In tonight’s eppy of The Rachel Zoe Project, It’s Oscar time…and Rachel’s right hand, Taylor, gives Rach an ultimatum. She wants her boss to choose between her and Rachel’s other assistant. “It’s Brad or I. Brad or I,” she says.

Tay, darling…I hate to channel my inner 6th grade English teacher. But it’s ‘Brad or me. Brad or me.’

Your grammar is bananas, Tay. I die.

Anyone else watch the show?

yes. i wanted to strangle taylor (as usual)

i caught that she said that “brad is acting like he’s done the Oscars before”, scoffing because he’s not asking for her help. but, um, any other time she would be yelling at him for acting helpless and asking for advice and not thinking for himself!

that’s how i know she’s full of shit. she knows when she’s acting like a raging bitch, and doesn’t give a fuck. both rachel and taylor are fucking up because they don’t realize that by TRAINING him, they only create a stronger team. just leaving him to sink or swim hurts no one but themselves.

I haven’t watched the episode yet, but I have seen the previews 42 thousand times, and I have cringed EVERY SINGLE TIME I’ve heard her say that. She needs to shut THAT down!

lol…love your post. that ‘I die’ thing has to go. so obnoxious.

I worked with someone like Taylor and it was a complete nightmare. I quit my job, too. Life is too short to spend your day with toxic people who make you feel like shit. it’s just work. on the other hand, brad can be a little ‘lax’ so I get where taylor is coming from. I love the show and will watch it again next season if there is one.

YES! I was laughing at Tay trying to be all badass with her shades on INSIDE, while saying “I” over and over. Shades inside? Puhleeze. She looks ridic.

I also think Taylor is really controlling over Rachel. It’s clear she wants Brad out, just so she can get her friend in to replace him. Taylor is my least fav. aspect of the show.

Oh, I could go on and on about Rachel–does she eat? Ciggies and coffee do not a meal make!

Hey Daneen – I am watching too, Im sorry to say. Taylor is a snot, and I think Rachel Zoe might not be the antichrist. Go figure. πŸ™‚ Pretty entertaining show overall though, I am surprised.

I’m so glad I’m not the only person who winced a little bit at her grammar! Lol. This show is so bad it’s kinda good…I caught it two days ago and again last night. Will probably keep watching. It’s entertaining.

I do not watch the show at all – I have never heard of it! But I do believe the sentence “It’s Brad or I” is actually correct, gramatically. The traditional grammar rule states that when a pronoun follows a linking verb, such as “is,” it should be in the subject case. That means it is correct to say, β€œIt is I,” and β€œIt was he who dropped the phone in shock and “This is she.” So, when she says “It’s” basically she is saying “It is” and thus “I” would be correct.

Linking verbs are words like is, was, were, appear, and seem, which don’t describe an action so much as describe a state of being. When pronouns follow these non-action verbs, you use the subject pronouns such as I, she, he, they, and we.

Tay drives me crazy. But her attitude to Brad made a lot more sense when she said that her friend was interviewed and Rach picked Brad over the friend…..

OMG I live in Australia and the first episode of The Rachel Zoe Project doesn’t show on TV until next week! I saw a few sneak-previews of the show and I cannot wait to see it. I love Rach’s slang, she is adorable. I totes hate her assistant though.

“it is I” or “it’s Brad or I” is actually correct. Sorry, your 6th grade English teacher should be ashamed.
