Head and Shoulders Moisture Care CollectionI suffer from chronic dandruff and it’s a very embarrassing condition. So embarrassing that in the 7 years I’ve been blogging, I’ve never discussed it. But I recently tried a new line of hair care products that I’m so excited about that I just had to break my silence.

A few months ago, I was in CVS walking through the beauty section – and some cool new products from Head & Shoulders stopped me in my tracks. I was kind of in a rush and didn’t have time to read the backs of the bottles, so I took a photo with my iPhone so that I would remember to investigate later.

Head and Shoulders Moisture Care Collection Dandruff

When I returned home that afternoon, there was a FedEx box on my front step. Inside was a bunch of beauty goodies for me to review…including two of the Head & Shoulders products I spied in the store. Turns out the brand has a new collection called Moisture Care, which “delivers enriched moisture for scalp and textured hair.” The product lineup includes a Shampoo, 2-in-1, Conditioner/“Co-Wash” and a “Scalp Soother.”

I’ve battled dandruff since I was a kid and nothing ever made it disappear. But the one product that helped me keep it in check was Head & Shoulders Clinical Strength Shampoo (which has 1% selenium sulfide). For the past year or so, my hair washing routine was a 2-step process. First, use the Head & Shoulders Clinical Strength Shampoo – concentrating on my scalp – then I’d rinse it out and then lather up all over with a co-wash from Pantene.

What’s awesome about this new Moisture Care line is that it is exactly what I’ve been doing, but simplified. Though I used the 2-in-1 and thought it was great, what I’m really excited about is the Moisture Care Co-Wash. It has the same % of selenium sulfide, so it’s tough on my dandruff – but the vitamin E–rich almond oil and coconut essence leave my hair moisturized and manageable. I haven’t tried the Scalp Soother yet, but that’s definitely next on my list.

Since I’ve been using the Moisture Care Co-Wash, I’ve noticed that my scalp isn’t as tight, there are less visible flakes (which is a real issue for me since I have dark hair) and my chemically-relaxed hair doesn’t feel as dry.

If you have dandruff and textured hair, the Moisture Care collection is a must-try. Head & Shoulders also has 23 other collections to address other hair and scalp issues. Find out which one is right for you.
