For a long time, Mother’s Day was just another Hallmark holiday to me. Time to buy the obligatory bouquet and card, right? That is until I had my son, Westley. Only then did I understand what a difficult (and rewarding) job motherhood truly is. Now that I’m a proud (and exhausted) mom of two, Mother’s Day holds even more meaning for me.

So do me a favor…this Mother’s Day, I want you to spoil the mothers in your life. It’s okay if your wallet is a little light. We moms appreciate a home-cooked meal, a thoughtful email/text message and – yes – the obligatory bouquet or card. But in case you’re feeling generous this year, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Mother’s Day gift suggestions.

As many of you know, I’m a working mom of two little ones…and I miss them terribly when we’re apart. So for Mother’s Day, I would love to receive a “mom necklace” with their names – so that they can always be close to my heart.

I’ve been browsing GracePersonalized, an Etsy shop with beautiful custom jewelry. Every piece they make is so lovely, it’s hard to choose just one!

This Mother’s Day, give your mama the gift of flawless skin. Tatcha, one of my absolute favorite skin care brands, has curated kits that – no exaggeration – deliver a more youthful and radiant complexion. This is one gift mom will definitely thank you for (over and over again). Plus these products will look so pretty sitting on your mother’s vanity.

Flowers are kind of clichéd for Mother’s Day – but when they’re gorgeous and on sale, who cares? RueLaLa has a deal going on with ProPlants right now – get a beautiful potted plant for $20-30. Gilt has a few deals: Get 30% off your order at Kabloom (free); Get 30% off fresh cut blooms at The Bouqs Company; and Get $30 online credit to

Gift your mom with a little R&R in the comfort of her own home. Soothe is a same-day, massage-on-demand service that delivers a licensed, vetted and certified massage therapist to your house, office or hotel room, with as little as 60 minutes advance notice. Services include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Prenatal and Couples massage. Appointments are offered between 8 a.m. and midnight every day of the week, with fixed prices of $99 (60 minute), $139 (90 minute), and $169 (120 minute) per person, regardless of the type of massage selected. And gratuity is included!
