Saturday was my birthday, so I made time to treat myself to an at-home manicure, which I often don’t have the time to do. But immediately after pulling out my arsenal of polishes and other accouterments, my 2-year-old starts whining, making sad faces and pointing to her own nails. So I had no choice but to give her a quick mani or else there would be no peace during my own.
For Arwen, I chose Zoya nail polish in Rooney, which is described as “a mid-range magenta pink cream with balanced undertones to flatter most skin tones.” And I have to admit how gorgeous this looks on Arwen. Not the typical pink you’d paint on a toddlers tips and toes, but so cute nonetheless. Zoya says this shade is “flawlessly opaque in 2 coats,” but I only used one and it did the trick. I topped off the paint job with a quick coat of Armor, Zoya’s fabulous topcoat. I think little Arwen is a little beauty girl in the making, ans she definitely has what it takes to be a baby hand model.
I am a big fan of Zoya nail polishes. I’ve been using them for years because of their wide range of classic and unique/trendy shades, and the polishes’ staying power. But now that I have kids, I also appreciate that the formulation is “big 5 free” – so I can do mommy-and-me manicures without exposing Arwen to dangerous chemicals.
