Noodle & Boo Conditioning Hair Polish

My daughter, Arwen, is a Noodle & Boo baby. Seen here – with a hair brush in each hand – she is a true beauty girl in training.

Noodle & Boo, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…

Noodle & Boo Newborn 2-in-1 Hair & Body Wash gently cleanses Arwen’s hair and skin without stripping its natural moisture. It’s tear-free, clinically-tested for sensitive/newborn skin, mild enough for daily use and suds up well despite being sulfate-free.

Noodle & Boo Baby Balm is a nourishing cream for face and body that soothes, pampers and provides long-lasting moisture for dry, irritated skin.

My latest Noodle & Boo discovery is their Conditioning Hair Polish, which uses sunflower seed and green tea extracts to detangle and smooth, reduce frizz and protect against environmental stress.   (more…)

Whish Soda Fountain Collection

Whish Soda Fountain Collection Body ButtersWhish, one of my favorite bath and body brands, sent me these mini tubes of their new Soda Fountain Collection to try. And let me tell you – these body butters (which I’ve been using as hand lotion) smell so yummy, I’ve unconsciously morphed into Mary Katherine Gallagher. As I type this, I’ve probably stopped two or three times to sniff my hands.

Mary Katherine GallagherThe collection features vintage soda fountain flavors (Black Cherry, Ginger Melon, Key Lime and Orange Cream) and is available in the form of Whish’s bubbly Bath & Body Gel and super-hydrating Body Butter.

The entire collection is available for purchase on the Whish website, but a limited selection of super-sized bottles is available as part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Beauty Exclusives(more…)

You’ll Go Nuts Over Yes To Coconut Lemongrass Hand Soap

Yes to Coconut Lemongrass Liquid Hand SoapAfter an excruciatingly long winter, I cannot wait for the mercury to start rising. Sunning myself on a beach while sipping a pina colada is my daydream du jour, but unlikely of coming true anytime soon. So until then, I’ve been taking imaginary tropical timeouts courtesy of my hand soap.

Yes to Coconut Lemongrass Liquid Hand Soap smells heavenly, lathers richly, and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth – and clean, obviously! And you can also feel good about choosing this soap because it’s 97% natural, petroleum, SLS, & paraben free, cruelty-free and free of artificial color.  (more…)

Beauty Products to Keep Eczema at Bay

eczema beauty product gold bond yes to coconutI have eczema. Not all year round. Just December through March. Sometimes, it’s just a minor annoyance. Other days, I’m covered with dry patches and the itchiness is almost too much to endure.

For the past few years, I’ve been eczema-free. So I thought that maybe I’d kicked the condition…that is, until it returned with a vengeance last month. No joke – in less than a week, two tiny bumps on my upper arm morphed into a scaly, raw, inflamed rash that covered the right side of my torso, hip and upper thigh. And there’s no cure. Can you believe that BS? We can land a space probe on a moving comet, but can’t figure out a way to prevent me from scratching my own skin off? Anyway, I digress…  (more…)

Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream Review

whish shave crave shaving cream

Daneen – I know that you like your razor*, but wow, this stuff is awesome!

Do you remember where you were when you learned how to shave? Believe it or not, I was in Tennessee! My Dad was driving our family to Orlando, from New Jersey, for a trip to Disney world. He had the tendency to take the long way to stop at obscure places for sight seeing. I was 10 or 12 years old, and I recall my mom saying that it was time to learn. She took a disposable razor and his Barbasol shave cream and showed me what to do.

Since then, I always got the $1.00 Barbasol shave cream to use. But since it always left me feeling dry (and smelling like a man, ha!), I decided to splurge and get Skintimate – which was definitely better. I never thought I would use anything more “luxurious” than that until Whish Shave Crave found its way to my shower.
