Rachel, winner of a $25 bobe gift certificate, writes:
Hello again! I wanted to a) thank you again, and b) let you know that I’ve received my order from bobe and it is FABULOUS. I got the pumpkin cheesecake whipped body butter and vanilla chai lip balm, and they also included a hefty sample of the pink sugar bath mousse. I really can’t say enough good things about it all!
The body butter is a.m.a.z.i.n.g…It smells sooo wonderful and feels great going on. The lip balm smells great too. But more importantly, it moisturizes really well. The bath mousse is a sweet little bit of luxury which I *really* need in my life with two wee ones.
I’ve directed all my friends to shop there, so I hope they do!
Thanks again, for giving me the chance to win this and for introducing me to such a wonderful little company!
Happy Thursday, everyone. I know many of you are tuning in specifically to find out who The Body Shop giveaway winners are. So I won’t hold you in suspense any longer.
The first place winner of the Spa Wisdom Rainforest Paradise Gift is Jodi S. The runner-up is Kelly Hensley – she will receive the Vanilla Spice Quartet Gift.
Thanks to everyone who participated. Spoiled Pretty has plenty more contests on the horizon, so check back daily!
I normally wouldn’t advocate spending more than $15-20 on shampoo or conditioner; but when you have hair with behavioral problems like mine, well, sometimes you’ve gotta pay the cost to be the boss.
Philip B White Truffle Shampoo and White Truffle Nourishing Hair Conditioning Creme impart moisture, elasticity, and shine to chemically processed, dry, or damaged hair. The miracle broth of 23.2% pure botanical extracts (white truffle, lavender, comfrey, thyme, hops, and nettle) instantly disciplined my mane. Usually when I use a new hair product, I need to blow it dry and style it before I notice any difference. With this shampoo and conditioner, I felt the difference in the shower! The only thing I can liken it to is Ritalin for your hair.
At $54 and $75 – stay with me here – these products cost 3 and 4 times what I, a beauty junkie, would typically spend on shampoo and conditioner. But considering how much I generally pay for hair serums, lotions, and potions promising to make my hair behave – I will gladly dig deep into my pockets to fund this addiction.
Philip B White Truffle Shampoo and White Truffle Nourishing Hair Conditioning Creme are on my Spoiled Prettiest: Best of Beauty 2007 list. Philip B products are available for purchase online, and at a beauty supply store near you.
All I can say is “Wow!”
Y’all wanted some J.R. Watkins prizes, huh? Well, the time has come to announce the winners. Looks like the new year is off to a beautiful start for Nancy J. She is the brand new owner of the Lemon Cream Dream Kit. Equally lucky is Beth (bethersparker) – she will receive the Treat Your Hands & Feet Kit.
If you didn’t win, but want to test your luck – be sure to enter the Spoiled Pretty giveaway sponsored by The Body Shop; contest closes at 9 pm EST on Wednesday, January 2nd. Good luck.
Stay tuned – the giveaways aren’t slowing down anytime soon. Thanks to everyone who entered!
Boxing Day is a British holiday celebrated on December 26th. While most people rush out for post-holiday shopping, those who celebrate Boxing Day give gifts or money to the needy, people they have employed and anyone else they missed on their gift list. It’s also a great time for families and friends to gather and enjoy each other’s company at a more leisurely pace.
In honor of Boxing Day, Jaqua is giving you 40% off everything at Jaqua.com – for 40 hours. I suggest you take advantage of the discount by stocking up on their Buttercream Frosting products.
Enter promo code BOXING12D at checkout. Expires: 12/28/2007 at 12:00 Noon (Pacific Standard Time).
‘Twas the day before Christmas,
When all through the blogosphere…
A little elf named Daneen shouted,
“Another giveaway is here!”
Okay, Shakespeare it ain’t.
I promised you a December chock-full of giveaways – and I’m an elf of my word. Around these parts, contests don’t take a holiday. I know that lots of you have been emptying your wallets and swiping those credit cards, purchasing gifts for friends and family members this Christmas. Well, J.R. Watkins and I would like to return the favor – so we’re giving you another opportunity to get spoiled pretty!
One winner will receive a ‘Lemon Cream Dream Kit’, which includes: Lemon Cream Shea Butter, Lemon Cream Lotion, Pure Lemon Body Oil, Lemon Hand Salve, Original Body Care Kit (a retail value of $51). You’re going to love the scent – which smells exactly like Lemon Pastry Creme Girl Scout Cookies.

To enter the contest, leave a comment in the comments section below by 9 pm EST on Monday, December 31st – be sure to include your name and email address (even if you have a Blogger profile). Or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Disclaimer: some of you have entered the contest by leaving a comment, but did not include your email address or a name – as I instructed above. Because some names are very common, please include your full name (or first name and last initial) – so that when I announce a winner, I can be as specific as possible. Thank you.
A winner will be chosen at random from among the entrants. On Tuesday, January 1st, I’ll announce the winners’ names. Please, only one comment per person; duplicate comments will not increase your chances of winning. Contest is open to U.S. & Canadian residents. Good luck!
A few weeks back, I attended the TotalBeauty.com launch event at Space NK in SoHo, NYC. My trip up from Philadelphia was, let’s put it this way, an adventure. So upon crossing the threshold into the store, I quickly downed two glasses of champagne and perused the inventory with my fellow beauty bloggers – shout out to Marina, Elke, Julia, and Antonia for putting me at ease and making me feel so welcome!
I was introduced to many new brands and products that night, but the one that I immediately regretted not buying was the Thai Tea Body Wash from Philip B. Seriously, I was on Amtrak riding back to Philly thinking, “Why didn’t I get that body wash? It smelled sooo yummy.” After a week of hemming and hawing, I broke down and decided I had to have it; and it’s been a fixture in my shower caddy ever since.
Inspired by Philip B.’s journey through Asia, Thai Tea Body Wash is enriched with 20% pure botanical plant extracts indigenous to Thailand. Ingredients include Thai Tea (rich in antioxidants), honey (moisturizes), coconut oil (softens skin), milk proteins (gently exfoliates), peppermint (stimulates circulation), lemon grass (normalizes oil production), ginger root (soothes skin), and citronella (deodorizes and balances oil production).
The smell is sweet, yet invigorating (it reminds me of the spa) and is the perfect AM pick-me-up I need before starting my day. It foams well, and tingles a little on the skin – thanks to the peppermint oil.
At $40 (you can get it at Amazon.com for $35) it’s pricey; when I first saw the cost of the Thai Tea Body Wash, my eyes were as big as saucers…don’t ya just love my puns? But a little goes a long way, so don’t use a cup when a teaspoon will do (there I go again) and use a loofah to extend the life of the 12 oz. bottle.
Here’s one thing you probably don’t know about me. I am an expert gift wrapper. I take pleasure in the holidays, not just for obvious reasons, but because it gives me the opportunity to flaunt my knack for gift wrap.
But I recognize that not everyone is as gifted as yours truly…gifted, get it?
So if you’ve got any last-minute gifts to buy, here’s a suggestion. The bath and body products from Space NK are fantastically fragrant, and the gift sets come in the most charming packages – so there’s no wrapping required!
Space NK’s founder, Nicky Kinnaird’s travels inspired the indulgent products. Of the line’s many scent options, I prefer Laughter – which is fragranced with “an uplifting blend of lime, rosemary and juniper enlivened by an unexpected sweet, spicy bite of ginger.”
The Ultimate Experience in Laughter is a perfect introduction to the Space NK Bath & Body range; it includes Body Wash, Body Balm, Bath Oil, Soap, two Bath Tablets, Travel Candle, and Eau de Toilette.
It’s finally Friday…which means it’s time to reveal the winners of Spoiled Pretty’s latest giveaways.

Cele Deemer is the winner of a Zoom facial with Linda Harding, senior esthetician at Rescue Rittenhouse Spa Lounge in Philadelphia. Cele will also receive a bottle of Biologique Recherche’s P50 Balancing Lotion (a $45 value). Enjoy your prize, Cele – your face will be in good hands, quite literally. And a big thank you to Linda Harding, for sponsoring this contest!
Stay tuned, because Spoiled Pretty is just getting warmed up. I’ve got so many contests on the horizon that they’re spilling well into the new year! Giveaways don’t take a holiday (at least the ones I host) – so keep checking back for your next chance to win.
At a company holiday party last week, the conversation turned to beauty products – as it usually does when I’m around. Two coworkers told me the same harrowing story – okay, maybe I’m being a bit melodramatic, but it wasn’t a good story.
Both women recently paid a visit to their local Bath & Body Works and were tempted into purchasing items from the Holiday Temptations line (not a surprise, given the yummy packaging). After taking the products home and using them, they were taken aback by the stains left on their tubs and towels.
We never got around to discussing how well the products work, but let’s be real – a shower gel had better get me squeaky clean (and wash away my cellulite) if it’s going to stain my shower.
