Golden Globes Gorgeous: Angelina Jolie

angelina+jolie Golden Globes Gorgeous: Angelina JolieCelebrity makeup artist Mary Burton created the beautiful look for Angelina Jolie and shared tips on how to recreate it.

Mary wanted to create a sheer, natural look and chose to focus on Angie’s eyes. She applied Lancôme Artliner in Noir to the lash line starting at the inner corner and blending out. To create drama, Mary used two different mascaras, Lancôme Virtuôse Mascara in Black and Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara in Black and applied a few coats of both to add volume and length. She added just a touch of color to the apples of her cheeks by applying Lancôme Color Design Blush in Model Mocha with her finger. To finish the look, Mary used Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling for a soft, pale pink, glossy pout.

Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii styled Angeline’s mane with three simple tools: a blow dryer, round brush and his signature Bohemian Beach Spray.

After blow drying her hair with his David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer and a round brush, David took large sections twisting the ends around the brush and spraying each with his Bohemian Beach Spray. Using the dryer’s low speed, he gave each section a blast of warm air to set. After cooling, the section was gently unwrapped from the brush and additional Bohemian Beach Spray was scrunched in to give volume and lift. The result is a look that is not over done or un-natural and is easy to achieve at home!

kate+winslet Golden Globes Gorgeous: Kate WinsletCelebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey did Lancôme ambassador Kate Winslet’s makeup and gave me the scoop on the makeup she used. Jillian wanted to play up Kate’s eyes, cheeks and lips.

She used Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner in Black on the upper lash line first and then applied dark brown eyeliner and smudged it on the lower lashes. Next, she lightly dusted Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in Chic on the eyelid. To make Kate’s eyes pop, she added a few coats of Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara in Black. Next, Jillian added some color to the apples of the cheeks by custom blending several shades of coral, peachy blushes together. Jillian opted for a classic red lip and finished the look with Avon Pro-to-Go Lipstick in Cherry Glisten.

Golden Globes Gorgeous: January Jones

january+jones Golden Globes Gorgeous: January JonesMakeup Artist Rachel Goodwin used Chanel products on January Jones for the 66th annual Golden Globes.

Beauty Inspiration: “My inspiration for January’s Golden Globes make up was really just a very quintessential 1940′s glamour girl look. When I first saw the color of her dress, it had this beautiful old Hollywood feel to it, I wanted the make up to have the same feeling.”

Beauty Tip: Rachel kept January’s skin very fair, almost translucent looking with a sheer foundation applied with a wet sponge all over on her face and body. She used the Chanel Poudre Cristalline Ultra-Fine Translucent Powder over it to give her skin a soft matte texture. Rachel used Chanel Automatic Liquid Eye Liner in Brun along the upper lid extending out to the edge of her brow, which she also extended with Chanel Brow Definer in Soft Brown.

The sexy, glamorous lip was Chanel Rouge Allure in Dazzling, a true tangerine red with a semi matte texture which was a fun pop of unexpected color that perfectly complemented the sky blue color of January’s eyes and of the dress. The focal point of January’s make up was the lip, but Rachel added just the slightest hint of soft bronze along the brow bone and the cheek bones with Chanel 4 Facettes Bronzing Powder (launching in April 2009, given to Rachel in advance for the Golden Globes) to give soft definition.

Golden Globes Gorgeous: Blake Lively

blake+lively Golden Globes Gorgeous: Blake LivelyMakeup artist Angela Levin used Chanel products on Blake Lively for the 66th annual Golden Globes.

Beauty Inspiration: “Today my inspiration was more of a feeling or emotion than a character. It was such a sunny, beautiful day in LA, and when I saw Blake, she was just glowing with her light, happy, uplifting personality. I knew we were going to go for a bright, summery, carefree look…. with just a drop of sexy!”

Beauty Tip: To achieve Blake’s fresh, young look, Angela blended all four shades from the Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Mystic Eyes on her lids. To make her gorgeous eyes pop, she added several layers of Exceptionnel de Chanel Mascara in Smoky Noir to her lashes. On Blake’s cheeks Angela used Les Tissages de Chanel in Tweed Rose, and to add a bit of bronze shimmer, she added a touch of Chanel Sheer Brilliance in Sunkissed. Finally, for a natural but sexy lip, Angela completed the look with Chanel Glossimer in Beige Guitare.

Golden Globes Gorgeous: Anne Hathaway

anne+hathaway Golden Globes Gorgeous: Anne HathawayMakeup Artist Kate Lee used Chanel and Lancôme products on Anne Hathaway for the 66th annual Golden Globes.

Beauty Inspiration: “Anne looked statuesque tonight. The dress was a deep navy colour, the top layer was black net, and had vibrant azure blue beading which complemented her alabaster skin tone. It is always my intention to make the look classic when it is for an award show.”

Beauty Tip: Kate chose to keep the eye sculptural and neutral. She took a small brush and blended the darkest shade in the Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Mystic Eyes from the lash line upwards slightly to soften the line. In the socket line, she used a tiny amount of Chanel Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Slate (launching in June 2009, given to Kate in advance for the Golden Globes), just enough to define the socket, and a tiny amount along the lower lash line. Next, she curled the eye lashes and applied sever layers of Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir. Lancôme Le Crayon Poudre in Brunet was the perfect product to gently add depth and definition to Anne’s brows.

Kate sculpted the cheekbones with Chanel Powder Blush in Nude, and on the top of the cheek bones and along the jaw and clavicle she used Lancôme Absolue Powder in Absolute Peche.

The lips were a perfect dark raspberry shade stain. To achieve this effect, Kate lined the lips in Chanel Definer in Natural, a shade that matched the color of Anne’s natural lip shade. Making sure the lips where moisturized and supple, she gently padded on Chanel Hydrabase Lipstick in Lotus Rouge, blending the edges of the lips so that there were no hard lines of color.

As a perfect finishing touch, Kate used Chanel Poudre Cristalline Ultra-Fine Translucent Powder to take away any shine from the forehead, nose and chin.

Frederic Fekkai’s Adir Abergel tended to Anne Hathaway’s tresses, creating a timeless and classic coiff reminiscent of Grace Kelly. To copy Anne’s do, start by applying Fekkai Coiff Boufant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel from roots to ends, part hair in a very deep side part. Blow dry completely with Fekkai Large Round Brush, once completely dry, take all hair into a low ponytail, applying Fekkai Coiff Magnifique to hair for texture and shine and wrap with elastic band at the nape. Take the ponytail and tuck it underneath, using a few hair pins and bobby pins to keep it secure. Once done, spray Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray for the perfect hold.

Golden Globes Gorgeous: Penelope Cruz

penelope+cruz Golden Globes Gorgeous: Penelope CruzMakeup Artist Jeanine Lobell used Chanel products on Penelope Cruz for the 66th annual Golden Globes.

Beauty Inspiration: “Penelope is just such a classic beauty and so sexy. I just wanted to play up her eyes as the focus, working with the nude of the dress. It was important to work in neutral tones playing off the gown and using darkness rather than colour for intensity.”

Beauty Tip: Penelope’s look on the red carpet was soft and sultry, with a defined, smoky eye. Jeanine used a tinted moisturizer for her foundation, and set it with Chanel Poudre Cristalline Ultra-Fine Translucent Powder for a bright soft finish. On her eyes, she went for a classic smoky look, using the Chanel Silky Eyeshadow Duo in Brun-Express. She used the matte brown and smoked out the lid, blended into the crease, and then created a smoky line under the eye. Jeanine rimmed the lash line and in the inner lid with Chanel Intense Eye Pencil in Noir. Adding the black on the top lashes smudgy gave her a sexy blended eye. She then used Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black on the lashes on top. For a soft, romantic look, Jeanine used Chanel Powder Blush in Rose Petale on the cheeks. Penelope’s lips were her own nude lip liner with a clear gloss, to keep the focus on the eyes.

Snag Jessica Alba’s Bangin’ New Do

Want to snag Jessica Alba’s bangin’ new styles? Read on…ghd Artistic Ambassador Andy Bodine shares how to recreate her look using an array of ghd products…

Look 1: Sleek & Sassy

jessica+alba+1 Snag Jessica Alba’s Bangin’ New DoIf you’re born with natural texture in your hair like Jessica, you’ll need to use an iron to get hair looking this sleek. Start off with a lightweight product, like ghd thermal protector, which protects hair from the heat of your styling tools. The formula also controls static and brings out your hair’s natural shine. On hair with medium length, I use the ghd IV styler to straighten strands from root to tip. To prevent the style from looking too stiff and straight, slightly curl the ends inward. The ghd IV styler is great for this since the ceramic plates are beveled and float (meaning they have more give when you use it to curl, which prevent dents or lines in the hair). For Jessica’s fringe, I would use the ghd IV mini styler which comes with ½” plates that are great for using on shorter styles. After using the styler, apply just a small amount of ghd shining serum to smooth the cuticle and you’re ready to show off your sleek, sassy style.

Look 2: Textured & Tousled

jessica+alba+2 Snag Jessica Alba’s Bangin’ New DoIf your hair is like Jessica’s and naturally has a slight wave in it, after showering use a product that helps define that natural wave. I use ghd texture lotion on hair when it’s still slightly damp. The formula is great at defining and piecing out your hair’s natural texture without looking or feeling too stiff. Use a diffuser with your blow dryer when drying the rest of your hair to prevent frizz, then apply ghd sea spray which has Dead Sea salt crystals to help recreate movement in hair and also provides a good hold that lasts throughout the day.
If your hair doesn’t have the natural wave in it, try creating a loose wave with your styler. I take a section of hair and place my ghd IV styler close to the root. Once I clamp down on the piece, I turn the styler 180 degrees away from the face and slowly pull through to the ends of the hair. The more quickly you pull through, the looser the wave and the great thing about this look is that if your waves turn out slightly messy, it looks even better! Finish the look with ghd sea spray to add matte texture and you’re good to go!
