Angelina looked stunning in a dark, navy blue Max Azria gown. Celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton wanted to create a 60’s look and chose to focus on Angelina’s eyes by applying lots of eyeliner and mascara. She used Lancôme Artliner in Noir just above the lash line. To compliment Angelina’s eye color and to make her eyes really stand out, she applied a bluish grey eyeshadow – YSL Ombre Solo Double Effect Eyeshadow in #3 Silk Blue – to the eyelid. Finally, she applied several coats of Lancôme Courbe Virtuôse Mascara in Black. Mary added a touch of pink to the apples of Angie’s cheeks using Shu Uemura blush in M Pink 31. To create ultra-shiny and luminous lips, Mary used Lancôme Color Fever Gloss in Rose Jolie, natch.

Introducing NARS Spring 2009, a color collection inspired by the 1970’s boasting pastel hues and berry shades for a look of pure chic.
Both strong and sophisticated, this collection features two new must-have products, the Blush Duo and the Duo Concealer.
NARS Blush Duo
François Nars has always considered blush a critical beauty building block. The double compact opens to reveal one highlighting and one sculpting shade, allowing you to literally shape your desired look.
Hungry Heart – Iridescent gold ivory and pink sand with golden sheen
NARS Duo Concealer
Since the skin on your face is not created equal, one shade of concealer usually won’t suffice.
This new palette features two complementary shades that can be blended together or used individually. Creamy and completely crease-resistant, the Duo Concealer is lightweight but still able to provide smooth, opaque coverage to eradicate skin redness, imperfections, and under-eye shadows.
Vanilla/Honey – Fair complexions
Custard/Ginger- Light to medium complexions
Praline/Toffee – Medium to dark complexions
NARS Duo Eyeshadow
To celebrate spring’s delicate femininity, François Nars introduces two new shimmery and frosty hued Duo Eyeshadows to the collection.
Egea – Frosted sage and smoky lilac
Hula Hula – Strawberry with gold particles and hazelnut with gold glitter particles
NARS Single Eyeshadow
Whether your mood is classic or playful, these three new Single Eyeshadows provide all the color combinations necessary to complete your makeup look. Go for a subtle, natural look with shades of pink and gold or a touch of sophistication with a sweep of the matte dusty red hue.
Baby Girl* – Cotton candy with golden undertones and gold particles
Grenadines – Matte garnet
Night Sun – Bright marigold with gold particles
NARS Multiple Duo
This two-in-one convenience pairs the complementary colors of Orgasm and South Beach of the versatile, multi-purpose cult favorite for eyes, lips and cheeks.
Orgasm/South Beach – Peachy pink and apricot with shimmer
NARS Multiple Bronzer
NARS extends its Multiple Bronzer shade range with this new hue. Rich in anti-oxidants, this bronzing stick is formulated to strengthen, support and repair the skin while creating an all-over warmth and contour for the entire face.
Cap Vert – Medium to dark complexions with red undertones
NARS Lip Gloss
Drench lips with this new sheer and shiny shade to echo the delicate and fresh feel of the season.
Sweet Revenge – Sheer pink grapefruit
This new sheer jewel tone adds a pop of color, for juicy berry-stained lips. The creamy formula glides on smoothly and leaves a hint of sexy shine.
Shrinagar – Metallic raspberry
The Spring 2009 collection is currently available at narscosmetics.com.

Last night, I attended the PRSA/Philadelphia Pepperpot Awards – a celebration of outstanding performance in public relations by practitioners in agencies, industry, government, and non-profit organizations. The American Cancer Society’s Marketing Department (of which I am a member) was nominated for our efforts to pass Clean Indoor Air (smoke-free) legislation in Pennsylvania.
The Pepperpot Award has grown into one of the most coveted awards in the field of public relations, so I pulled out the big guns and went all out with my makeup. It’s a good thing I did, because my team ended up winning first place in the Public Affairs category! Yay us!
And the icing on the cake? Charm City Cakes, the bakery featured in the Food Network series, Ace of Cakes, created a magnificent confection that looked just like an actual pepperpot!
Here are the products I used to create my award-winning look:
Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation in 173
* MAC Beauty Powder Blush in Sweetness
* Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
* Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
* MAC Fascinating Ruby: 6 Smokey Eyes (from Passions of Red holiday collection)…I used Ambience, a cool mid-tone grey with silver sparkle.
* Exceptionnel de Chanel Intense Volume and Curl Mascara
Jillian Dempsey is a smart cookie. She’s the lucky lass who took McDreamy off the market. So when Jillian, a makeup artist and Global Creative Color Director for Avon, shared her tips for choosing and applying blush…you best believe I’m taking copious notes.
“When I’m working on a client, I smile so she’ll smile, which accentuates the best part of the cheeks to apply blush. I put the the highest concentration of color just outside of the fattest part of the cheeks – not directly under the eyes. You don’t want that flush of color to be too close to the nose or the temples because that screams ‘too much blush.’”
Since reading Jillian’s advice in November’s issue of Allure, I have been applying my blush exactly as she recommends. And I have to say that I am amazed at the difference a few millimeters can make. For the first time in what I fear is too long, I actually look like I’m blushing.
Passion, heat and danger come together to create this simply sparkling holiday collection. Lips are coloured in lusty shades with shimmering Dazzleglass to add resplendent moisture. Two shades of Mineralize Eye Shadows are zipped together by a strip of silver or gold, while shimmery blushes and silky nail lacquers accentuate a radiant holiday look.
