While I’m prone to eczema during the winter months, the rest of the year I’m luckily flare-up free. But this past summer, my skin was an irritated itchy mess – so I knew something not good was up and I’d be wise to see a dermatologist. The doctor’s orders were short and sweet.
Whish, one of my favorite bath and body brands, sent me these mini tubes of their new Soda Fountain Collection to try. And let me tell you – these body butters (which I’ve been using as hand lotion) smell so yummy, I’ve unconsciously morphed into Mary Katherine Gallagher. As I type this, I’ve probably stopped two or three times to sniff my hands.
The collection features vintage sodafountain flavors (Black Cherry, Ginger Melon, Key Lime and Orange Cream) and is available in the form of Whish’s bubbly Bath & Body Gel and super-hydrating Body Butter.
A few weeks ago, I paid a visit to my local Bath & Body Works store. I was on the hunt for a tropical-smelling body wash that wouldn’t break the bank, and B&BW seemed like a good place to search. When I entered the store, I was greeted my a really nice saleswoman who asked me what I was looking for. I told her I was looking for something coconutty and she recommended their new Cool Coconut Surf Shower Gel. Typically, a bottle would set you back $12.50, but since it’s new, it was only $6. It smelled good and I almost bought it…that is, until I found a bottle of Coconut Water Chill Shower Gel in the clearance bin marked down to $2.75. First and foremost – I absolutely LOVE Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics products. My first experience in one of their stores dates back 5ish years. My mother, sister and I were on our way home from a Yankees game (a tradition of ours), and we had some time to kill before getting to our train. We were on 14th Street walking away from Union Square when an adorable young man coaxed us into the shop promising us free facials and hand treatments. The scent that was pouring out of the door and into the New York City air was intoxicating. It was sweet and delicious – so we decided to indulge ourselves… (more…)
