Outsmart the Prepsters at J. Crew Outlet Store

Yesterday, I paid a little visit to my friend J. Crew. The purveyor of preppy has a store at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets – and I was absolutely shocked by the inventory. Many of the items in stock are still in J. Crew’s regular stores and on the website…but in the outlet store, the prices were so ridiculously low that I was pinching myself to make sure this wasn’t one of my ‘everything I want is on the clearance rack’ dreams.

Take this Convertible Swing Dress, for example. On, it’s listed as a new arrival and is priced at $78. But I picked it up today at the outlet store for less than half the price! The tag was marked $49.50, but it was my lucky day because all lounge dresses were an extra 30% off. So I scooped up the Swing Dress for just $34.65, which is an unbelievable steal because it’s actually three dresses in one!

I don’t typically buy summer dresses this early in the year; my head’s just not in the game yet. But then I thought about how scorching and sticky the summers can get in Philly – and how I complain, every year, that I wish I had more comfy sundresses. So I snatched this up, wishing they also stocked the dress in more colors. Unfort, they only had black.
