Spoiled Pretty Speaks The Truth About L’Oreal HiP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner

Running low on your Stila Smudge Pot or Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner? In our current crap economy, budget-minded beauty junkies might want to try L’Oreal HiP High Intensity Pigments Color Truth Cream Eyeliner. These longwearing liners, available in five shades, deliver rich color with a creamy, soft formula. I am a big fan of Midnight Blue, which imparts an intense (yet wearable) sapphire to the lash line.

Just don’t apply the liner with the “professional brush” that accompanies these paint pots. The applicator is, dare I say, cheap. It doesn’t apply the product precisely – and I would liken it to those shoddy brushes we used to paint watercolor masterpieces in the kindergarten. Worst of all, the harsh bristles have a tendency to scratch the sensitive skin of the eyelid…ouch!

Bottom line: Buy HiP High Intensity Pigments Color Truth Cream Eyeliner but toss the brush. For a few extra bucks, invest in EcoTools Bamboo Angled Eyeliner Brush – this high-quality tool comes at a low price, is made of natural and recycled materials, and comes in a reusable cosmetic pouch.

Good Things Come In Fives

If you haven’t yet jumped on the Urban Decay bandwagon, I have one question for you…what have you been waiting for? ?

It’s alright. I forgive you. But now it’s time to get with the program and play a little game of catch-up.

There’s no better introduction to the brand than . In my knowledgeable opinion, no other eyeliner compares. 24/7 Pencils are in a league of their own. They are my holy grail and they’ll be yours too. I would bet money on it.

Now, typically, these pencils are $16 a pop. But right now, you can pick up five for only $29.

– available in “Velvet Rope” and “VIP” – is like a box of crayons for your eyes. Five travel-sized liners let you experiment and play with color. Created with 50% moisturizing ingredients, the pencils are creamy, blendable, and waterproof. Packaged together against a mirrored backdrop, the 24/7 Pencils are must-haves for your beauty tool kit, and speak to everyone’s inner party girl: the woman who wants and needs an eyeliner that lasts all night (and even into the morning!)

The VIP set features the #1 best-selling black Eye Pencil, Zero (zealous black), Lucky (brilliant deep copper), Covet (peacock green), Electric (bright aquamarine), and Lust (plush purple). The Velvet Rope set features Yeyo (metallic white), 1999 (plum with teeny gold glitter), Zero (zealous black), Bourbon (brown with teeny gold glitter), and Stash (dark green/gold).

I’m somewhat surprised that my favorite shade, Deviant, didn’t make the cut. But otherwise, I can’t be mad at UD because all of my other pet pencils make an appearance. Depending on your comfort with color, you can choose one set or the other. My suggestion is that you purchase both. Yes, you’ll have two Zeros – but this black liner is the end all, be all – so you really will need more than one.

These babies are gonna go quick. So act fast!

Warm and Fuzzy Eyeshadow: Lise Watier Cachemires Bleu Quartet

How many of you own an eye shadow quad with no clue about where and how to apply the colors? I can relate…I’m a beauty junkie, not a makeup artist. Which is why I am such a big fan of Lise Watier’s eye shadow palettes. Included with the kits are directions on how to achieve different looks, complete with color-coded diagrams.

This summer, I was all about the Eye Quartet in Mer. And now that the lazy days of summer have come to an end, I’m feeling kinda blue. In a good way.

For fall, Lise Watier presents two seasonal colour quartets in soft, soothing shades – my favorite being Cachemires Bleu. This palette of (composed of a grey taupe, a sky blue, an anthracite blue and a luminous pale pink) is both subtle and refined, allowing infinite mix-and match possibilities. And it comes nestled in a pretty knitted pouch, accented with sequins!

To create the look above, I used products from Lise Watier’s new collection, Les Cachemires:

MAC Ungaro

Live from backstage at the Fall 2008 Collections, It-Boy designer, Esteban Cortazar, and MAC have come together to create a special colour collection as dreamy, refined, and, well, Parisienne as anything this side of the Avenue Georges V, exclusively ours! A limited edition for lips, cheeks, eyes…chez Ungaro, only for MAC.

“Our association with Ungaro is really exciting as we’ve supported Esteban for many years. He’s reflective of an attitude and movement for venerable fashion houses to reinvent their brands by employing new emerging talent, something that’s a core value of MAC,” explains Creative Director, James Gager.

The collaboration also represents the many personalities and aesthetics to which MAC makeup appeals. “MAC’s a high/low fashion brand,” continues Gager. “We follow equally couture and street culture, a sense of yin and yang is inherent to the brand and our customers – heavy-duty dramatic makeup alongside that which is girly, fresh and light. Following from our dramatic and outrageous collaboration with McQueen last year, we felt that Ungaro represented another side of MAC’s personality.”
