My preferred method of hair removal is threading–on my face, anyway. Up until a few years ago, I frequented a lovely threading salon in downtown Philly. But then it closed, which is a real shame because there aren’t a lot of threading places near me. Since then, I’ve been patronizing those threading kiosks at the mall. They do a great (and cheap) job. However, it’s one thing to get your brows shaped in the middle of the mall and it’s an entirely different thing (aka mortifying experience) to have your upper lip and chinny chin chin hairs ripped out in front of passersby.
I tried to suck it up, close my eyes and pretend that onlookers weren’t snickering at me. But I’m much too self-conscious for that kind of public humiliation. So I had to come up with a more private method of hair removal. Luckily, I didn’t have to search very hard because Olay did the work for me.
I can’t believe how late I am to the St. Ives Apricot Scrub partay.
St. Ives Apricot Scrub is a perennial award winner (it’s like the Meryl Streep of the skin care world) and beauty gurus rave about it. I recently tried it for the first time and after I marveled at my baby butt smooth face, I immediately started kicking myself for waiting so long to give it a try.
The scrub exfoliates dull skin away for a smooth and radiant look. The 100 percent natural exfoliants (which include apricots and walnuts) are known to brighten skin; corn kernel meal, which is known to improve skin’s appearance, increases cell turnover. The classic scrub was also newly formulated to be 100 percent sulfate-free.
And now it comes in four formulas, so you can choose the one that meets your skin’s unique needs. (more…)
This past Spring, I embarked on the 2012 Eucerin Healthy Skin Challenge. To kick off this partnership, I had a consultation with Dr. Deborah Sarnoff, a NYC dermatologist. After discussing my skin issues, she recommended the following Eucerin products for me:
After using the products for four months, I had a follow-up consultation with Dr. Sarnoff. Watch the video for a recap of my evaluation and the progress I’ve made, as well as some great tips Dr. Sarnoff gave me for the coming months.
I had totally forgotten about Dermalogica preclense until I was having dinner with my besties the other day and my friend, Jenn, raved about it. She told me how Dermalogica products, particularly the precleanse, were working wonders on her skin – and helping her beat adult acne breakouts.
It’s been a while since I used precleanse, but I knew I still had a bottle somewhere in my beauty arsenal. So this weekend, I did some sleuthing and found it hiding out in the back of my bathroom cabinet.
OMG…thank you, Jenn, for reminding me about this skincare gem! I’ve only been using it for 2 days now and my skin feels and looks so much better!
For those of you unfamiliar with precleanse, it’s exactly what it sounds like. You apply this blend of Olive, Apricot and Kukui Nut oils before your cleanser. It dissolves makeup, sunscreens and oil-based debris, readying them for easy removal. My skin feels so fresh and so clean clean, but not dry or stripped.
It’s so freaking amazing that I cannot fathom how it ended up in the back corner of my medicine cabinet. Nobody – including me – puts precleanse in corner! When I’m wrong, I say I’m wrong.
and you’ll understand what I mean. Dermalogica precleanse deserves prime real estate in your bathroom.
