It feels like I have been waiting forever for this moment…I am now back in New York City and psyching myself up to jump into a jampacked sched of non-stop Fashion Week shows, events and parties. I know…boo hoo, Daneen.
I’m beyond excited to get backstage and bring you the inside scoop on beauty products and trends for spring 2010. But I’m most excited for all of The Beauty Girls to be in the same city for the first time all year. Can’t wait to see my friends…and catch up over Korean fried chicken tomorrow night!
Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, created the Jade Nail Collection with two limited edition nail enamels in sure-to-be-coveted colors “Jade” and “Jade Rose” for the Ready-to-Wear Autumn/Winter 2009-2010 runway show.
These mineral-inspired shades transform the nails into genuine gems and recall the jade jewelry and the pink knit and pistachio tweed of the fashion collection.
“For the nails, Karl wanted a green shade to evoke the jade notes of the collection. I worked with our laboratories to offer him a monochromatic palette of 10 green shades. We chose the color that most resembled the green tweed skirt suit from the collection,” explains Peter Philips.
The Chanel Jade Nail Collection debuts on September 10th at the Chanel Soho Boutique in New York City in celebration of Vogue’s Fashion Night Out. Starting the 11th of September, The Jade Nail Collection will be sold for limited time exclusively at http://www.chanel.com, Chanel Makeup Studios and Chanel boutiques for $25.

Lancôme is bringing back the Pout-à-Porter Lipstick series! The previous four lipsticks in this collection were collaborations with celebrated designers Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Peter Som and Thakoon. All four of the lipsticks sold out and one Proenza Pink lipstick even sold for $122.50 on eBay.
For Spring 2010 Lancôme is collaborating with emerging designer Chris Benz and they need your help! They’re doing a lipstick naming contest; the new shade will be inspired by Chris’ Spring 2010 collection and will be worn by the models at his show in September. The contest winner will receive five of the lipsticks plus a $500 Lancôme gift certificate. All you have to do is post your suggestion on Chris’ Facebook fan page based on what you know about Chris and his fashion personality.
The deadline for submissions is Sunday, July 12th, at 5 p.m. EST.
So be sure to visit Chris’ fan page. While you’re there, don’t forget to become a fan.
