I love fashion and beauty magazines.Mr. Spoiled Pretty, not so much. Probably because I subscribe to a gazillionand my magazine library takes up a ridiculous amount of real estate in ourhouse. Every month when my new issues are delivered, I pour over the pages –reading about the latest products and innovations and gleaning genius styletips. But as much as I love my magazines, I’m often frustrated by the broad-spectrumadvice. Like most women, I want advice and recommendations that address myunique beauty and style concerns. Which is why I am so excited to have recentlydiscovered a new website that offers a truly customized, interactiveexperience.
StyleUnited is the first personalizedwebsite that provides women with a one-stop destination for head-to-toe fashionand beauty consultations, recommendations, and news. The site features articles, slideshows, blog posts and how-to videos from P&G and industry expertsincluding: influential stylists, fellow bloggers and online editors.
StyleUnited provides customized recommendationsbased on responses to Style360, a one-of-a-kind diagnostic tool that gives youa fresh perspective on your total style.
Four fun quizzes are designed to understandyour unique skincare, haircare, cosmetics and fashion needs:
Fashion Focus: Fashion goes beyond the season’s hottest trends.Whether you’re Boho Chic or Flirty Romantic, we help you find flatteringsilhouettes and the looks you love.
Mad For Makeup: Your makeup is as individual as you are. We evaluateyour features, coloring and goals to help you turn up your gorgeous.
Hair Affair: All hair is not created equal. From root to tip, weoffer you custom advice on making yours shine, and how to achieve the looks youwant.
Skin Deep: Every woman’s skin has unique characteristics andneeds. We help you create a custom regimen that gets yours glowing.
I had a ball playing around withStyle360 and was impressed by how spot-on the assessments were. For example, theFashion Focus quiz described my look as “edgy bold with a hint of casual cool.”It correctly guessed that I’m drawn to “sexy rock n’ roll pieces” (I am asucker for anything studded), but added that also like “a few soft cozy touches”(I have a closet full of open cardigans and I practically live in Uggs).
The product recommendations werealso dead-on. In fact, some of the items that Style360 suggested are already onheavy rotation in my beauty arsenal.
If you’re looking for an evenmore personalized experience, StyleUnited offers 1:1 eBeauty – a live webcamconsultation with professional beauty consultants. Don’t have a webcam? Noproblem. 1:1 can be done over the phone too. It’s like a department storebeauty counter experience (except you can do it in your pajamas and slipperswhich I’m pretty sure might get you kicked out of Nordstrom). And how much doesthis real time advice session cost? Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
So if your New Year’s resolutionis to get gorge in 2012, you’d be wise to add StyleUnited.com to your bookmarks. Besides being a great style resource, it’sdownright addictive. But you don’t have to take my word for it…try it for yourself and let me know what you think in the comments.
This post was sponsored by StyleUnited.com, but all opinions are my own.
That’s when I saw it…the Audrey Brooke Paris Flat. I was immediately enamored with the Reva doppleganger and rendered positively giddy by the price tag – just $59.95! But would the shoe fit? As I hurriedly removed my Ugg boot and slipped my foot into the shoe, I said a little prayer and…it fit like a glove. Not to sound dramatic – okay, maybe just a little – it was a Cinderella moment.
Alas, I didn’t buy the shoe in the store because I figured I could save more if I purchased online. So as soon as I returned home, I got on the Internet and picked up a black pair for less than $30. As I explained in a recent review of the Audrey Brooke Leopard Satchel, the awesome thing about DSW.com is that you can combine coupon codes. By combining some promo codes I researched online and cashing in some coupons I received as a DSW Rewards member (sign up…it’s free!), I saved $30 and got free shipping.
In addition to black leather, the Paris Flat is available in a metalic leather and a leopard print haircalf. They leopard ones aren’t available online, but I spotted them in the store – just, sadly, not in my size. So I called some other local DSW stores and tracked down a pair in my size – and they’re on hold until I can go adopt them on Friday. I can’t wait!!!
|Update: I scooped up the shoes a few days ago and I am so proud of my purchase. Too cute, right?|
Maybe it’s a godsend that my feet are so fat…because, for less than the price of Reva, I can pick up all three pairs of Paris.
Rebecca Minkoff is my absolute favorite handbag designer. I die for every single bag single bag she creates. Since discovering her line of chic arm candy a few years ago, it has been my mission to create a Rebecca Minkoff collection within my handbag arsenal. I currently own four – and I’m always on the hunt for more (bank account be damned). Even Mr. Spoiled Pretty, my fashion-oblivious fella, knows I love me some Minkoff.
This month, my girl is giving you the opportunity to start (or add to) your own Rebecca Minkoff collection!!! 30 lucky Minkettes can win the latest addition to the Morning After family, the Mini MAC (retail $195).

I am so excited about my new handbag, Audrey Brooke’s Leopard Satchel, that I couldn’t keep this fabulous find to myself. The photo doesn’t do this bag justice, so I shot a video to highlight its prettiness.
Besides being extremely cute (doesn’t it look designer?), well made and roomy, it was also crazy affordable. I would value this bag at about $200-250, but I snagged it for less than $100. It’s on sale at DSW for $129.95, but if you buy it online, you can use coupon codes to get a great deal. The awesome thing about DSW.com is that you can combine codes. By combining some random codes I researched online and cashing in some coupons I received as a DSW Rewards member (sign up…it’s free!), I saved $30 and got free shipping. Here are some codes to get you started:
So this weekend, I went shoe shopping at Macy’s and bought these super fun Wowza sandals (also available in gold) from Nine West. They look so good on my feet that the $79 price tag didn’t really faze me. But it sure stung later that day when I saw my new shoes on ninewest.com – for $32 cheaper!
Now, if it was only a $5, $10, or $15 difference, I might have just cursed my bad luck and got on with my life. But $32 is a different story. So I went back to Macy’s, returned the sandals and then bought them online when I returned home. I even managed to find a free shipping coupon code, so I made out like a bandit.
Only down side is that I have to wait about a week to wear my cute new kicks.

How many times has this happened to you?
There’s a special occasion on the horizon and you’ve got nothing to wear. So you search and search (and search some more) for the perfect dress. Except you never find it, and you end up settling on a dress that’s event appropriate and looks halfway decent because you’ve run out of time and going naked isn’t an option. So once you’ve donned the so-so dress, it gets banished to the back of your closet – never to be worn again because, frankly, you were never truly in love with it to begin with.
Story of my life. Maybe my problem is that I’m a celebrity – in my own head – who hates to wear the same special outfit twice. Or perhaps it’s that getting all dolled up in a fresh frock is so damn fun.
So a few weeks ago as I planned a blog business trip to NYC, I was literally trippin’ about my lack of wardrobe options. After an exhaustive search for the perfect ensemble, I was almost ready to settle on this sad sundress hanging in my closet…until I remembered Rent The Runway, a website were you can rent designer dresses and accessories.
Contest ends on Friday at 5pm ET. I’ll announce the winner then. Good luck!
*A gift card was provided for review and this giveaway is sponsored by Rent The Runway.
I don’t know about you, but when I go shopping and find something really awesome, I can’t wait to tell everyone I know because a) I want others to be as impressed with my shopping prowess as I am and b) I want my friends to purchase that item too – so they can share in my retail euphoria. When someone compliments something I’m wearing, even though I know “Thank you” would suffice, I launch into a soliloquy – rattling off the designer, where I bought it, how much I paid and the coupon I used (I’m a coupon crazy nut).
If you’re like me and love to spill the deets on your shopping feats, here’s a website to add to your Favorites list…
At OMG I just bought… you confess your most recent purchases for a chance to win weekly prizes from your favorite stores. How fun is that?
I just posted about my recent fedora purchase at Banana Republic and about the super cute flats I scored this past weekend at DSW. Go me!

For a few weeks, I was eyeing up a fedora at Banana Republic. While Mr. Spoiled Pretty and I were shopping there one day and I was waiting for him to pay for his khaki shorts, I perused the racks and tried on some hats. I always thought fedoras were a little pretentious in an “I’m trying hard to look effortlessly hip” kind of way – so I was shocked by how hard I fell for this hat. But I wasn’t crushing on its $45 price tag (I’m cheap).
So I left the hat in the store – and that bastard haunted my dreams for weeks – until I returned to the store and adopted it. In fact, I bought two different styles (the ones pictured) because I was equally smitten and couldn’t make a decision to save my life (I’m a Libra, so this happens quite often). Lucky for me, my co-worker had given me a coupon for 30% off – so my purchase wasn’t such a big blow to my wallet. But to be honest, I wear these fedoras so often that even if I had paid full price, it would have been worth it. They up the cool factor of almost any outfit – and I get at least one compliment (from friends and strangers on the street) every time I wear them.
The reason why I’m telling you all this is because Banana Republic is having a “Power Lunch” sale today. For three hours, you can get 40% off your full-priced purchase – in stores and online (enter promo code BRPOWER at checkout). So if you’ve been eyeing up anything at Banana, now’s your time to pounce.
You’re welcome…and happy shopping!
