As many of you know, I am proud mama to Westley and Arwen. And as you can imagine, I enjoy spoiling them pretty and dressing them up. Westley thinks he’s grown (he’s 5 going on 15), so he’ll wear what I pick out but styles his outfit it in a way that shows his unique personality. Arwen, my baby, is only 20 months old but is a fashionista-in-training. She gravitates to items with unique and funky details, loves sparkle and bling, and enjoys getting dolled up even when we’re just hanging around the house.
She even likes shopping online (I’m pretty sure it’s genetic). When I’m shopping on my phone or iPad, she’ll lean over and point to the things I should add to my virtual cart—or shake her head when she’s less than impressed.
That’s her pictured above—modeling a Beau Loves romper that she picked out herself from Sailor Janes, an online kids fashion boutique with really cute and trendy pieces. She loves the fringe and twirling in front of the mirror watching it sway.
My favorite thing about Sailor Janes is that they sell kids clothes that are fashion-forward and special. In fact, there are a few pieces that are so cute that I wish they had adult sizes. Seriously, I would totally rock this Wolf & Rita dress and blouse.

While perusing Etsy, I discovered the Emily McDowell Studio, which makes the BEST greeting cards – even for people who don’t really like giving/receiving cards. They are absolutely hilarious!
Here a few of their love-themed cards that would be perfect to send your special someone (who shares your sick sense of humor) for Valentine’s Day. But hurry – for guaranteed delivery in the US, you need to place your order by February 4.
My mom has been raving about CND Vinylux for months – so I had to see what all her fuss was about. I’m not a patient person, so when I paint my own nails, it looks terrible – the polish ends up all over my cuticles and is applied in the most uneven fashion. Then because I don’t have a fancy dryer, they get messed up even more. But since my husband and I decided to cut out “wants” vs. “needs” (we are saving for our first home), I decided that I have to start doing my own nails and requested a sample of CND Vinylux to try.
My typical go-to colors are very neutral, so I decided to go for it even further by requesting brighter colors. I selected: Wildfire, Pink Bikini and Powder My Nose. I trimmed my nails, filed them and buffed them as best as I could. I then applied 2 coats of “Wildfire” and then the top coat – no base coat was required. In about 10 minutes my nails were completely dry! And in the couple of areas where the polish got on my cuticles, I was able to peel it right off. (more…)
