Earlier this month, Kate Spade (aka creator of cuteness and the reason why I can’t seem to keep money in my wallet), launched a brand new line called Kate Spade Saturday.
Kate Spade Saturday is a new global lifestyle brand created to channel the spirit of Saturday seven days a week. This younger, more accessible sister to kate spade new york shares the same DNA: it’s colorful, optimistic and bold, but it expresses these values in a more casual way. Saturday offers simple shapes and go-anywhere silhouettes. Functionality and utility are key. The collection is crafted with honest materials like crisp cotton, canvas and natural vachetta, brightened with bold colors and strong prints. The line includes apparel, handbags, accessories and items for the home.
After browsing around Saturday.com, I have to say that it’s everything I hoped it would be. The line is polished but fun – retaining Kate Spade’s cheekiness – but at a more affordable price point. Here are just a few of the fashionista-friendly items I’m eyeing up:
Don’t Forget to Be Awesome Wallet, $120
Split Neck Tee, $30 (available in Black, Heather Gray, White and Yellow)
Nifty Home Cosmetic Carousels are back on sale at ideeli. Last time they were available, I posted about them and then clean forgot to snag a few before the sale was over. Don’t be scatterbrained like me and miss out. The carousels hold cosmetics and accessories, with a space-saving design takes up very little of your precious counter space. It’s originally $29.99 but Ideeli has it on sale for $19.99. It’s available in six colors: black, white, silver, cream, rose and pink (seen above). This will be the perfect purchase to get you in the mood for a little spring cleaning, no?

Fabulous products are available at every price point. And by that, I don’t mean that you can find some fairly decent prestige knockoffs at your local Target or drugstore. What I do mean is that there are many mass market beauty products that rival ones 10x their price. Case in point: L’Oreal’s new Advanced Haircare collection. Frankly, I think these products are in a league of their own.
I didn’t request samples from L’Oreal, so when a box of shampoos, conditioners and styling products showed up on my doorstep, I didn’t know what to make of them or what made them different/special…until I introduced them to my overprocessed tresses. Last weekend, I tested the following products:
I need another lip balm like I need a hole in the head. But when I saw Nivea’s Vanilla & Macadamia Kiss Lip Butter while picking up some essentials at CVS, I couldn’t resist tossing a little non-essential treat into my basket. The name is perfectly apt – it goes on like butta and smells like (you guessed it) a vanilla-macadamia mashup. Imparts good moisture and gives the lips a healthy sheen. It’s packaged into a slim tin that conveniently stows in your pocket or the smallest of handbags (I keep mine in the car console)…although I kind of wish it came in stick form. I’m no germaphobe, but sticks just seem more sanitary.
Nivea Lip Butter is also available in Smooth Kiss, Raspberry Rose Kiss, Caramel Cream Kiss and retails for around $4.
