I love beauty. But what I love more is introducing women to beauty products that they never knew existed but will change their lives. That’s why I started Spoiled Pretty, after all.
I’ve been blogging since 2007 and have posted 2,900+ product reviews and articles. I’ve dropped a lot of knowledge over the past seven years and I encourage you to search the site and get better acquainted. But for those who are short on time or need to quickly get down to the nitty gritty, I’ve added an exciting feature to Spoiled Pretty.
A glorious garden of irresistible shades unfolds, its hidden pleasures unearthed, as delicate pastel Pigments unfurl and the dewy sparkle of Cremesheen Glass casts a luminous gleam. Rose-coloured hues burst from lustrous Lipstick, while a heavenly hybrid of Mineralize Eye Shadows blossom with natural splendor. Cheeks are kissed with the graceful glow of Mineralize Blush, and vivid pops of colour flourish as Fluidline and Nail Lacquer bring this flowery fantasia to life.

“Wear sunscreen! I promise, you’ll thank me when you’re old!”
My mother, forever subtle, has been pushing sunscreen on me for as long as I can remember. Once I could drive, any time not spent working over the summer was spent at the beach, getting seriously bronze. Like most people, I prefer how I look with a little bit of a tan, and my sun protection usually had single-digit numbers. Fast-forward to my city life, where the majority of my time is spent indoors, and all of my foundations tend to have names like ivory and buff. I wear SPF 15 every single day to prevent skin damage – on my face, neck, and the back of my hands. I’ve been a faithful customer of Olay for years. They make a great all around moisturizer for sensitive skin, and I practically buy it in bulk.
Attention beauty junkies. Urban Decay just added a new product to its beloved Naked collection. Behold…Naked Lipgloss!

Unlike most addictive substances, it’s actually good for you!
Do you travel to see family during the holidays? I do, and between shopping for all those gifts and attending festive parties, I barely have time to pack for my trip. Tarte takes the guesswork out of your holiday (or everyday) makeup palate with their Beauty without Boundaries Collection. All you need for your natural or sultry look is included in one stylish Missoni-esque makeup bag.
Because my hair is over-processed, dry and damaged, I only wash it about once a week. Which means that when I “do” it, I better do it right – or else my hair will look jacked for the next seven days. Forget a bad hair day; it’s more like a bad hair week for me. So when I’m offered the chance to review new hair product samples to review, I’m usually reluctant. But not this time, because it was Pantene doing the offering—and I’m a big fan of the brand.
A few weeks ago, Pantene reached out with an offer to send me one of their new-ish lines to review: Truly Relaxed or Truly Natural. I have chemically straightened hair and have used the Truly Relaxed products off-and-on for almost a year (they’re pretty fabulous), so I opted to try the Truly Natural line. Even though my hair hasn’t been in its “natural” state for almost three decades, the product descriptions contained important buzz words like “moisture,” “shine,” and “frizz control”—so I decided to give them a try.
Here’s what Pantene sent me:
Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural Clarifying Shampoo is “designed to gently cleanse your hair’s unique structure and remove buildup—leaving it shiny, clean, and refreshed.” Overall, I really liked this shampoo. It effectively cleansed my hair, but was gentle while doing so. It smells fresh and I love that the formula is silicone, Paraben and dye-free. (more…)
On Tuesday, I attended a screening with Mama Spoiled Pretty and her BFF, Estelle – and we had so much fun. We laughed hard and cried harder (this rom-com is also a tearjerker – so bring some tissues). In fact, I got so choked up at one point that I had to remind myself that this is a movie and the actors are all fine IRL. Anyway, here’s the movie description:
After nearly 15 years apart, Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Regina Hall reprise their career-launching roles in The Best Man Holiday, the long-awaited next chapter to the film that ushered in a new era of comedy. When the college friends finally reunite over the Christmas holidays, they will discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.(more…)
