tbscreenshot Today Is The Day: Total Beauty Opens Its Doors!
A few months ago, Spoiled Pretty was invited to be a part of TotalBeauty.com, a comprehensive website offering unbiased product reviews, interactive editorial content, and connections to the best of the best in beauty.

I am so excited to announce that today, Total Beauty opens its doors to the public – and I can honestly say that it delivers on its promise of being the definitive beauty resource. Women’s Wear Daily loves it and Allure Magazine gave it “a solid A.”

The site’s fantastic features include:

*A community of beauty enthusiasts reviewing their favorite products, sharing tips and techniques and insider scoop on the latest in beauty;
*The most comprehensive product library available anywhere (30,000 products);
*Advice from industry experts, beauty editors, and beauty bloggers;
*Total Beauty Television, featuring instructional videos;
*Coupon codes and discounts;
*Product samples; and
*Personal profiling technology, called “My Beauty Scout”, which recommends products based on your specific beauty needs.

The feature that I’m most excited about is the website’s “Blogs We Love” page. While still in the planning phase, Total Beauty executives scoured more than 400 beauty blogs and chose their 36 favorites – and I’m proud to report that Spoiled Pretty made the cut!!!

I’m am extremely flattered that Total Beauty considers Spoiled Pretty to be among the beauty blogging elite – especially given that it is less than four months old. So on your next visit, please head on over to the “Blogs We Love” page and click on the link back to Spoiled Pretty – all it takes is one click of your mouse to help advance your favorite beauty blog into the top ten.

Visit Total Beauty today…never before has so much information about the products you use, or may want to try, been assembled in one, easy to use place. TotalBeauty.com is the smart girl’s secret weapon.

Last month, Beauty.com launched new industry-leading features to its recently redesigned web store. Visitors to the site now have direct online access to personalized, comprehensive recommendations for skin and hair care regimens across multiple brands and price points.

“These innovative tools are bringing the traditional makeup counter experience closer to our online beauty customers by showing them products specifically selected for their individual needs and concerns,” said Dawn Lepore Chairman and CEO of drugstore.com. “This compelling and informative shopping experience makes is easier for customers to make choices that are right for them.”

The individually designed plans recommend products from more than 200 prestige beauty brands now available on beauty.com, which is owned by drugstore.com, a leading online provider of health, beauty, vision and pharmacy products.

With it’s revamped look, “Fragrance Finder” function, and free samples with purchase, Beauty.com is looking a lot like another online beauty retailer. Here’s a hint: S_PHORA

It’s About Time

 Its About Time
Beauty doesn’t last forever, and beauty products have an even shorter shelf-life. But how many of us actually toss cosmetics once they’re past their prime? And we wonder why our skin is a mess!

If you’re like me, you’ve got too many beauty products to count – so how can we be expected to know when our treasures have turned to trash? Timestrips are postage stamp-sized labels you stick on your cosmetics, which accurately monitor elapsed time and temperature. Simply activated, the indicator changes color when your makeup is no longer safe to use. So no more guessing if your mascara has met its maker.

Here’s The Skinny

skinnyheadband3 Heres The Skinny
Fall has finally come to Philadelphia. Unfortunately, it brought steady rain and winds with it. On days like today, when I don’t feel like doing to much to my hair – because I know the weather will just un-do it – I pull it back into a pony or bun, then reach for a skinny headband. It adds polish to an otherwise bland hairstyle.

This look works better on hair that has a little texture, so if you’re working with freshly-washed hair, use a product like Ojon Animated Styling Cream or Dirt Texturizing Paste by Jonathan Product. To keep the headband in place all day, lightly spray the underside with hairspray before sliding into place.

Nordstrom has some gorgeous headbands, but I suggest getting more bang for your buck by purchasing yours at someplace like Urban Outftters.

Spoiled Pretty Tip: If traditional headbands give you a headache, look for ones with elastic banding on the back.

I Told You Not To Blow Your Dough

mac Antiquitease I Told You Not To Blow Your Dough

Last week, MAC unveiled Antiquitease, a holiday collection inspired by the ornate excess of antiquity. But I warned you about being a spendthrift because MAC had bigger and better offerings on the horizon. Well, I hate to say “I told you so” (I’m lying), but I was right.

This week, beauty addicts hit the motherload as MAC unleashes Royal Assets, Heirlooms, Curiositease, Finery, and Viva Glamorous. Is your wallet ready?

Royal Assets

Finery
 I Told You Not To Blow Your Dough
Every Antiquitease adores her finery, including this petite purse of woven cream fabric with metallic thread and an ivory crown motif on the handle. Each contains three lipcolours of one colour scheme. Fabulously authentic in look and feel.

Viva Glamorous
 I Told You Not To Blow Your Dough
This season’s crowning glory: the VIVA GLAM compacts make their debut in their traditional red this year, embellished with our royal crown icon. Available in Cool and Warm palettes. Every cent of the purchase price goes to the MAC AIDS Fund.

Models And Mangoes

americas next top model The Girl Who Gets A Mango Models And Mangoes

Tonight’s episode of America’s Next Top Model entitled, “The Girl Who Gets A Mango,” had its fair share of famous faces – including the delectable Tyson Beckford and Miss Mary J.

But for me, the most exciting guest appearance was that of Lisa Price, creator of Carol’s Daughter, who founded the brand in her Brooklyn kitchen.

In honor of tonight’s eppy, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to a new product from Carol’s Daughter – Mango Mélange Shea Body Lotion. A luxurious blend of 15% shea butter, this moisturizer absorbs quickly and penetrates deeply to hydrate, condition, moisturize, soften and nourish dry skin for an ultra healthy glow.

And how cute was Saleisha when she was begging for some Carol’s Daughter leftovers?
