What if I told you that you could turn your shower into a spa-like experience in less than 3 minutes? Well, you can with the ingenious Aromatherapy Shower Kit from Essio. The kit includes a shower head attachment device and three pods of essential oils. Here’s how it works…
You clip the attachment device on the shower head. It’s adjustable and works with lots of different kinds of shower heads. Next, you insert one of the essential oil pods into the end of the attachment device. Finally, you remove the pod’s cap and point the nozzle into the running shower water to start the flow of oil – which will start to fill your shower with fragrance. (more…)
Last week, Tory Burch added a new fragrance and beauty collection to her stylish empire.
Tory describes her eponymous fragrance as “a balance of femininity and tomboy, citrus and floral, grounded and graceful.” Floral peony and tuberose blend with crisp citrus notes of grapefruit and neroli — anchored by earthy vetiver.
Back in 2009, I interviewed my fellow Philadelphian and she named Vetiver by Guerlain as her signature scent. So I’m not surprised that vetiver (which her dad, Buddy, also wore) became the signature note for her first fragrance. (more…)
This Christmas, give the gift of Candy. Not sugar plums or candy canes. I’m talking about another sweet treat.
If Prada Candy isn’t on your recipient’s wish list, it’s because she hasn’t smelled it yet. With notes of white musks, noble benzoin and caramel, Prada Candy isn’t overwhelmingly saccharine, as the name might imply. Powder tempers the sugar, giving this gourmand a classic sophistication.
You could buy the 1.7 oz bottle for $80. Or for $2 more, you could pick up the Prada Candy Eau de Parfum Gift Set, which includes an eau de parfum (1.7 oz.), body lotion (2.5 oz.) and mini eau de parfum (0.24 oz.).

Fragrance is a very personal thing. Unless you know the recipient’s favorite scent (or he/she has requested something specific), fragrance can be a tricky gift. Even if you know the “notes” that the person likes, perfumes and colognes react to differently on everyone…so it could be a real hit, or a big miss.

Prada Infusion d’Iris Eau de Parfum is one of my signature scents. In 2007, when I gifted Mama Spoiled Pretty with a bottle for Christmas, I was seduced by its charm, and I’ve been wearing it ever since. In fact, I carry a full-sized bottle in my handbag. So when Prada announced Infusion d’Iris Absolue Eau de Parfum, a sequel to the award-winning original, I couldn’t wait to get a whiff.
Unfortunately, it was originally only sold at Neiman Marcus. Neiman is a little rich for my blood, so I it took me a while to get my my hands on one of the gold-adorned bottles. But, in the past few months, I’ve noticed the perfume popping up at other stores (Nordstrom, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s) – so I recently reached out to my friends at Nordstrom to request a sample. They happily obliged, so I’m now able to bring you this long-awaited review. (more…)
I love beauty. But what I love more is introducing women to beauty products that they never knew existed but will change their lives. That’s why I started Spoiled Pretty, after all.
I’ve been blogging since 2007 and have posted 2,900+ product reviews and articles. I’ve dropped a lot of knowledge over the past five years and I encourage you to search the site and get better acquainted. But for those who are short on time or need to quickly get down to the nitty gritty, I’ve added an exciting feature to Spoiled Pretty.
Best Beauty Buys is a new option on the navigation bar (top left). Browse my favorite products in seven categories: Baby, Bath and Body, Fragrance, Hair, Makeup, Skin Care and Tools. And be sure to bookmark or check back often, as I’ll be frequently updating with fabulous finds.
Did any of your personal faves make my list? Any best beauty buys you’re dying to try? Tell me in the comments!
Congrats to the winner of the Versace Yellow Diamond Giveaway: Elizabeth Paniagua

I have a very discriminating nose, which is why a lot of fragrance reviews don’t see the light of day on the pages of Spoiled Pretty. I have a few favorites (Hanae Mori Butterfly, Prada Infusion d’Iris, Kai, Philosophy Amazing Grace, L’Instant de Guerlain, Carol’s Daughter Sugar-Dipped Vanilla) – but most perfumes don’t impress me enough to warrant a review.
So the fact that I’m posting about Yellow Diamond should tell you that I’m definitely impressed with Versace’s latest olfactory offering. (more…)
For the longest time, I’ve had a $50 gift card to Barneys New York. 50 bucks doesn’t go far at Barneys which is why it took me so long to get my virtual shop on. But recently, I decided to cash it in on a bottle of Kai Perfume Oil – and let me tell you, while the bottle is tiny ($48 gets you 1/8 oz), this was money very well spent.
Kai’s perfume oil is a blend of fresh gardenias and white exotic flowers made with essential oils in a convenient and easy to use roll-on vial. Whenever I wear it and catch a whiff of myself, I’m instantly transported to an exotic island paradise. I just want to LIVE in this fragrance. Kai is the perfect warm weather perfume and I’ve already packed it away in my bag for my trip to Miami later this week.
Since creator Gaye Straza launched the line in 1999, Kai has established a cult following – including celebs Cate Blanchett, Mary J. Blige, Pink, Giuliana Rancic, Naomi Watts and Reese Witherspoon. Kai can add Daneen Baird to that list because I’m hooked and fully intend on adding to my Kai collection (I just added the body wash and body butter to my beauty wish list).
