Biel Goes Blonde

jessbiel Biel Goes Blonde
Earlier today, the paparazzi snapped this photo of Jessica Biel – and her new flaxen do – at London’s Heathrow airport. In just the last hour or so, this pic has been popping up all over the Internet – and everyone’s weighing in on whether her haircolor is a hit or miss. But what baffles me is that no one has commented on her swollen upper lip – that sucker is huge!

Three Cheers For T3!!!

T3 Featherweight allure Three Cheers For T3!!!
After reading countless rave reviews, I jumped on the T3 bandwagon. And let me tell you – I’m gonna ride it ‘til the wheels fall off.

T3 Bespoke Labs Featherweight Dryer is what ‘good hair’ dreams are made of. Every time I use it, I fall deeper and deeper in love with this hair dryer. How do I love T3? Let me count the ways:

*1800 watt, 2-speed/heat settings plus cool shot
*Tourmaline technology and infrared heat reduces static electricity
*Negative ions add moisture and sheen
*Eliminates the frizzy, “blow dried” look
*Seals hair cuticle – resulting in sleek, glossy hair
*Evaporates water in the hair faster, cutting drying time by up to 60%
*Super lightweight (13 ounces)
*Quieter than traditional hair dryers
*Chic bejeweled handle

With my old hair dryer, I would mix 2 or 3 different leave-in conditioners/hair creams in my hands, slather it on – then spend 20 minutes blowing it dry. Mind you, it only takes 10-15 minutes to dry my hair completely, but I had to dry in shifts because my arm and shoulder would start to give out. Once I was “finished,” I would apply a serum to make the cuticle lay down, then spend another few minutes sealing in the shine with another blast from the dryer. And after all that, my hair still looked puffy and parched.

Before T3 came into my life, blow drying was an exercise in endurance. Now, I actually look forward to drying my hair, because the end result is healthy looking hair – not wrecked and ravaged like before. Plus, I find myself applying less hair products because I just don’t need them anymore.

I am such a T3 convert that when I went to see Erik, my hairdresser, a few weeks ago, I took along my Featherweight. You heard me right. And guess what? Erik fell in love too. He used the T3 Featherweight in conjunction with 360 Plump (a weightless, non-sticky hair plumper created by T3 and Orlando Pita) – and nothing else. After Erik was finished styling my hair, he was absolutely blown away (there I go again) by how thick, bouncy, and naturally lustrous my hair looked.

The only downside to this dryer is its $200 price tag. But trust me – and I’m not exaggerating – it’s a steal considering the time and hassle it will save you. Plus, it’s kinder and gentler on your hair than the dryer sitting in the cabinet underneath your sink; and if you care about your hair, sooner or later, you’ll need to start taking care of it – or you won’t have any left.

Bottom line: a T3 hair dryer is a solid beauty investment, with rich dividends.

Rihanna Inspired By Charlize, Not Posh

Don’t lump Rihanna in with the all those celebs knocking off the ‘Pob’ (Victoria Beckham’s ubiquitous hairstyle).

af3 Rihanna Inspired By Charlize, Not PoshIn the January issue of Allure, the R&B star reveals that her edgy ‘do was actually inspired by Charlize Theron’s haircut in the action film Aeon Flux. Without getting permission from her record label, she “asked hairstylist Ursula Stephen to chop off her hair and dye it raven black in her L.A. hotel room.”

Pay The Cost To Be The Boss (Of Your Hair)

shampoo Pay The Cost To Be The Boss (Of Your Hair) conditioner Pay The Cost To Be The Boss (Of Your Hair)
I normally wouldn’t advocate spending more than $15-20 on shampoo or conditioner; but when you have hair with behavioral problems like mine, well, sometimes you’ve gotta pay the cost to be the boss.

Philip B White Truffle Shampoo and White Truffle Nourishing Hair Conditioning Creme impart moisture, elasticity, and shine to chemically processed, dry, or damaged hair. The miracle broth of 23.2% pure botanical extracts (white truffle, lavender, comfrey, thyme, hops, and nettle) instantly disciplined my mane. Usually when I use a new hair product, I need to blow it dry and style it before I notice any difference. With this shampoo and conditioner, I felt the difference in the shower! The only thing I can liken it to is Ritalin for your hair.

At $54 and $75 – stay with me here – these products cost 3 and 4 times what I, a beauty junkie, would typically spend on shampoo and conditioner. But considering how much I generally pay for hair serums, lotions, and potions promising to make my hair behave – I will gladly dig deep into my pockets to fund this addiction.

Philip B White Truffle Shampoo and White Truffle Nourishing Hair Conditioning Creme are on my Spoiled Prettiest: Best of Beauty 2007 list. Philip B products are available for purchase online, and at a beauty supply store near you.

Put Your Hair In A Bouffant While You Shower

showercaps Put Your Hair In A Bouffant While You Shower
My hair is delicate and dry. For that reason, I don’t wash my hair on a daily basis. Which means that on the off days, I wear a shower cap. But y’all know I can’t be sporting your garden variety, Golden Girls-looking monstrosity. Hell, naw. I rock the Bouffant Shower Caps from Spa Sisters.

These shower caps keep locks & tresses beautifully tucked away & dry, as you shower or bathe. Plus, they’re oversized – so they easily fit over a head full of curlers. Who says shower caps aren’t stylish?

Get Out Of My Face

 Get Out Of My Face
Right now, I’m sitting at my computer waiting for my mud mask to dry (more on that later). What’s holding my hair back so that no stray strands end up stuck to my face? It’s my Aquis Microfiber Headband.

aquisheadband Get Out Of My FaceI purchased it at Home Goods for $5 earlier this year – but unlike some of the other impulse buys I made that day, this product was absolutely worth the money. Do I use it everyday? No, although I could and probably should. But it definitely comes in handy when I’m using masks and other treatments on my face and don’t want my hair getting caught in the product. Sure, you could just pull your hair back with an elastic band – but if you have bangs like me, you’ll find the Aquis Headband to be very practical.

The headband is a simple strip of plush microfiber with a velcro closure, that gently holds hair in place. Not only is it great at keeping your hair back while you’re tending to your face with an at-home treatment, it’s especially helpful when it comes time to rinse said treatment off.

And just like a towel, when it gets dirty, simply toss it in the washing machine. Available at Amazon.com, Drugstore.com. and H20+.
