Ever heard the expression 15 minutes of fame? The expression was coined in 1968 by Andy Warhol, who said that “In the future, everyone will be world famous for 15 minutes.”
Well, forget 15 minutes. That’s so 1968 (when Andy Warhol coined the expression). Paul Mitchell is seriously upping the ante by offering the curly girls of the world 1,440 minutes (24 hours) of mane fame!

Hello, Spoiled Pretty readers! I am so excited to be the newest contributor here at SP! First, a little bit about me — I am a Korean-American woman, which means I have naturally poker-straight hair. The good part about my hair is that it’s low maintenance and manageable. As for the downside, it’s lifeless and as limp as a wet noodle. So what can a girl do about flat, melba-toast hair?
I recently had a body booster face-off with two products that promised to put some pep into my hair: TRESemme 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray and Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse. First up, the spray. The spray comes blasting out of the aerosol can at 100 miles an hour, a la Aqua Net. After a few seconds of spraying the product while hanging my head upside down I looked in the mirror and saw the Bride of Frankenstein looking back at me — body boosting indeed. A quick run-through with the comb and my hair was under control with much more bounce than usual.
For a less dramatic boost to your do’, the mousse delivers just like any other mousse. There is no dramatic unleashing as with the spray. What sets this product apart is that it smells absolutely amazing and is so lightweight that you would never know any product is in your hair. That unwanted crunch that some products leave behind is non-existent after applying this mousse. (more…)
If you’ve been reading this blog for a hot minute or you’ve seen a picture of me, you probably know that I have chemically straightened hair. It grows out of my head curly, but I’ve been straightening it for 25+ years – to the point where I’m embarrassed to admit that I can’t even remember what the natural texture of my hair is anymore.
So it might seem ironic that I’m posting about Paul Mitchell’s new line of products for curls. But it actually makes a lot of sense. Waves and curls require serious moisture (frizz is not fab), but in a lightweight formulation – as not to weight the hair down. My fine, relaxed (aka damaged) hair demands the same – so I’ve been incorporating two of the more universal products into my routine.
The Spring Loaded Detangling Shampoo is ultra-moisturizing and sulfate-free. Whenever possible, I prefer to use sulfate-free shampoos because they don’t strip. However, many sulfate-free shampoos just don’t lather up the way the way that traditional shampoos do – and it’s a bummer for a bubble-lover like me. The great thing about the Spring Loaded Detangling Shampoo is that it gives a rich lather, so it’s the best of both worlds. (more…)
I love beauty. But what I love more is introducing women to beauty products that they never knew existed but will change their lives. That’s why I started Spoiled Pretty, after all.
I’ve been blogging since 2007 and have posted 2,900+ product reviews and articles. I’ve dropped a lot of knowledge over the past five years and I encourage you to search the site and get better acquainted. But for those who are short on time or need to quickly get down to the nitty gritty, I’ve added an exciting feature to Spoiled Pretty.
