No matter how much you plan or how good your intentions, sometimes you get busy and you find yourself scrambling at the last minute to finish your holiday shopping. So for those of you who are still looking for that perfect present, I have some fabulous finds for the beauty lovers on your list.
Clarisonic Sonic Radiance Brightening Solution Kit (on sale for $199.20 at Nordstrom, orig. $249)
If you’ve got money to splurge on your special someone, I can’t think of many beauty gifts that would wow more than the Clarisonic. There are many iterations of the Clarisonic, but the one I’m recommending is the new Clarisonic Sonic Radiance Brightening Solution Kit. It’s a two-step, morning and evening regimen to gently and effectively treat and control dark spots and uneven skintone for a more radiant complexion. The set includes the Mia 3 Cleansing Device, Radiance Brush Head, AM Skin Illuminating Cleanser, PM Skin Renewing Peel Wash, and Brightening Activator Serum. I’ve been using for about a month and it delivers on its promises. Immediately, there was an improvement in my skin texture and my complexion looked noticeably brighter. And every day since, my dark marks fade a little bit more. It’s also helped to control my breakouts, which are the cause of my hyperpigmentation. So that’s a great bonus. If your gift recipient is already a lucky Clarisonic owner, you can get him/her the Clarisonic Sonic Radiance’ Brightening Transformation Kit, which includes everything above except the Mia 3. This time of year, people always run into the same gifting problem. There are a ton of co-workers, friends, cousins and kids’ teachers to thank. But to buy something for every one of them without breaking the bank means handing out presents that cost $10 or less. And those are never any good, right?
Well, right now $10 goes a long way at C. Wonder. They’ve got a “surprise sale” going on – with a bunch of really cute gifts marked down to $10 (or less). Here’s just a sampling of stuff you’ll want to snatch up:
Constellation Card Case, $9.97 (orig. $24)
Zodiac Candle, $9.97 (orig. $24) (more…)
I always considered myself a coffee girl. Tea was never my thing. The only time I would drink it is when I had a cold – for the therapeutic benefits. But since I tried DavidsTea, I’ve changed my tune. I’m actually turning into to quite the connoisseur.
A few weeks ago, DavidsTea invited me to the opening of their new store in the King of Prussia Mall, near my house. Between my crazy work schedule and two small children, I couldn’t attend the event – but they generously sent me The Winter Collection set and Nordic Mug, so I could still experience their product.
Well, I’m hooked. I went from not drinking tea at all to having a huge steaming cup every night before bedtime (Vanilla Chai and Eggnog are my personal faves). (more…)
As I’ve been perusing the internet, I’ve come across some really cute gifts for your four-eyed friends. As someone who has worn glasses and contact lenses for decades, I would love someone to stuff my stocking with these fun picks:
Kate Spade Literary Glasses Pencil Pouch Set, $30
Kate Spade Travel Umbrella, $58
U-Lens Contact Case by Umbra, $4.99 (more…)
I love gift giving. Even more than I enjoy gift receiving. It’s a fun game for me. I get a thrill out of finding the perfect present. My secret/trick is pretty simple – whenever possible, I purchase personalized gifts. People love seeing their name on things. I know I do. A thoughtful touch can turn a generic item into something the recipient will treasure for years.
Here are some of my favorite personalized gift picks for 2014:
Brevity’s Signature Necklace ($195) is the ultimate thoughtful gift. This takes nameplate necklaces to the next level – because it’s not a font or a script. It’s a signature. And creating the necklace is as simple as uploading an image file. The necklace could be in the recipient’s handwriting, your own or someone else’s. And it doesn’t have to be a name. It could be a word, place or phrase that has special meaning. The possibilities are endless. Okay, I take back what I said at the beginning of this post. I would love to give this as a gift, but what I really, really, really want is to receive one of my own on Christmas morning.
This time of year, there are always people who you want to thank without breaking the bank. It’s tough because most gifts that cost around $10 are absolute crap. Not the Anthropologie Limited Edition Golden Monogram Mug ($10), though. It’s well made, looks like you spent a lot more, and is a gift that your recipient will actually use…a lot. It’s perfect for your kids’ teachers, a co-worker, the person who delivers your mail…the list goes on and on.
The Icing Gold Monogram Initial Key Ring ($7.50) is another great stocking stuffer that looks more expensive than it is. Icing is that kind of cheap-y store in the mall where 12-year-olds shop…so I didn’t have high hopes when I purchased a few of these online as gifts. I figured if the quality was poor, I’d simply return them. But when they arrived on my porch a few days later, I was very impressed with the quality…and I know the people receiving them will be too. The Pottery Barn Teen Faux Fur Manicure/Pedicure Lapdesk ($69, originally $89) is the perfect gift for the gal whose nails are always on point. (more…)

This Christmas, give the gift of Candy. Not sugar plums or candy canes. I’m talking about another sweet treat.
If Prada Candy isn’t on your recipient’s wish list, it’s because she hasn’t smelled it yet. With notes of white musks, noble benzoin and caramel, Prada Candy isn’t overwhelmingly saccharine, as the name might imply. Powder tempers the sugar, giving this gourmand a classic sophistication.
You could buy the 1.7 oz bottle for $80. Or for $2 more, you could pick up the Prada Candy Eau de Parfum Gift Set, which includes an eau de parfum (1.7 oz.), body lotion (2.5 oz.) and mini eau de parfum (0.24 oz.).

Fragrance is a very personal thing. Unless you know the recipient’s favorite scent (or he/she has requested something specific), fragrance can be a tricky gift. Even if you know the “notes” that the person likes, perfumes and colognes react to differently on everyone…so it could be a real hit, or a big miss.
Instead, try one of the Sephora Scent Samplers. The set include samples of popular fragrances, plus a gift voucher of equal value that can be redeemed at any Sephora store for a full size bottle of any one of the samples included.
The Sephora Favorites Fragrance Sampler for Her ($50) is a 12-piece collection of Sephora’s most sought-after women’s scents includes a range of enchanting, stylish, and luxurious fragrances, and a stylish beauty bag for safe keeping. This sampler also includes a voucher for a full-size bottle, making it the perfect present for indecisive buyers or receivers. From the flirtatious, alluring notes of Betsey Johnson’s Too Too Pretty, to the delicate blend of berries and flowers in Hanae Mori’s timeless Butterfly, she can try them all, select her favorite, and visit a Sephora store to receive the full-size gift.
