As I’ve been perusing the internet, I’ve come across some really cute gifts for your four-eyed friends. As someone who has worn glasses and contact lenses for decades, I would love someone to stuff my stocking with these fun picks:
Kate Spade Literary Glasses Pencil Pouch Set, $30
Kate Spade Travel Umbrella, $58
U-Lens Contact Case by Umbra, $4.99 (more…)
I love gift giving. Even more than I enjoy gift receiving. It’s a fun game for me. I get a thrill out of finding the perfect present. My secret/trick is pretty simple – whenever possible, I purchase personalized gifts. People love seeing their name on things. I know I do. A thoughtful touch can turn a generic item into something the recipient will treasure for years.
Here are some of my favorite personalized gift picks for 2014:
Brevity’s Signature Necklace ($195) is the ultimate thoughtful gift. This takes nameplate necklaces to the next level – because it’s not a font or a script. It’s a signature. And creating the necklace is as simple as uploading an image file. The necklace could be in the recipient’s handwriting, your own or someone else’s. And it doesn’t have to be a name. It could be a word, place or phrase that has special meaning. The possibilities are endless. Okay, I take back what I said at the beginning of this post. I would love to give this as a gift, but what I really, really, really want is to receive one of my own on Christmas morning.
This time of year, there are always people who you want to thank without breaking the bank. It’s tough because most gifts that cost around $10 are absolute crap. Not the Anthropologie Limited Edition Golden Monogram Mug ($10), though. It’s well made, looks like you spent a lot more, and is a gift that your recipient will actually use…a lot. It’s perfect for your kids’ teachers, a co-worker, the person who delivers your mail…the list goes on and on.
The Icing Gold Monogram Initial Key Ring ($7.50) is another great stocking stuffer that looks more expensive than it is. Icing is that kind of cheap-y store in the mall where 12-year-olds shop…so I didn’t have high hopes when I purchased a few of these online as gifts. I figured if the quality was poor, I’d simply return them. But when they arrived on my porch a few days later, I was very impressed with the quality…and I know the people receiving them will be too. The Pottery Barn Teen Faux Fur Manicure/Pedicure Lapdesk ($69, originally $89) is the perfect gift for the gal whose nails are always on point. (more…)
