If you have issues with wandering eye makeup, you’d be wise to invest in Stila Smudge Pots. Instead of telling you why, allow me to demonstrate…
Stila Smudge Pots are available at Sephora and stilacosmetics.com.
Yesterday, I visited my local Bath & Body Works store to replenish my Japanese Cherry Blossom Creamy Body Wash stock…and I almost started twitching. Not only was it nowhere to be found, there were no Creamy Body Washes to speak of.
I made a beeline for a helpful saleswoman, who calmed me down and assured me that they would be back on shelves soon.
Totally jonesing for my my beloved body wash and unsatisfied with the vague timeline given for its re-release, I emailed my contact at the company. She informed me that they are being reformulated with a triple moisture complex moisturizes skin all day and also shows visible improvement in skin’s radiance and feel. While the old stock is still available on bathandbodyworks.com, the new batch will hit stores around October 15th.
Thank heavens for small miracles. You’re welcome, fellow Creamy Body Wash fiends.
Congrats to Suriyati Barnes and Faith Perfecto, winners of the DERMAdoctor giveaway. These ladies have won the best body scrub ever, DERMAdoctor’s KP Duty Body Scrub. This amazing exfoliator acts as a chemical peel and microdermabrasion session in one – leaving skin resurfaced, retexturized, soft, smooth and radiant. I am 100% confident that Suriyati and Faith will love it as much as I do!
Many thanks to DERMAdoctor for spoiling these readers pretty. Stay tuned for your next chance to win. The contest I have cooked up for later this week is hot like fiya!
This past weekend, Mr. Spoiled Pretty and I attended our friends’ wedding. Though my Audrey Hepburn-inspired cocktail dress was darling and my coiff was looking uncharacteristically on point, it was my Bambi lashes that elicited the most compliments from my better half.
“Your eyelashes look amazing,” he said, at least three times during the night. At first, I was a little skeptical. I mean, when was the last time you got a compliment on your lashes from a guy who didn’t idolize Cher and sweat glitter (to steal a phrase from my gal, Amber)?
At first, I thought Graham’s flattery might have been the result of the Glenlivet he was sipping at the reception. But when I stopped in the ladies loo and spied myself in the mirror, I realized that the compliments were well-deserved.
What was my secret? I’ll tell you. Swipe on Lancome’s Oscillation Powerbooster lash primer, from root to tip. And while it’s still wet, paint on a coat of Lancome Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara. Hypnose Drama’s s-shaped brush paints on inky goodness, resulting in fanned out, eye-popping, full body fringe. The formula is on the thin side, which means that it won’t dry out, or worse – leave your lashes a clumped up mess. I adore how the applicator grasps even my stumpiest, non-existent baby lashes and transforms them into their best selves.
Hypnose Drama is, by far, the best mascara on the market right now and it is absolutely worth every penny of its $24.50 price tag. But if you want to up the proverbial ante and elicit stares and compliments galore, you’ll dig deeper into your wallet and buck up for the primer too.
Lancome Powerbooster and Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara are available at Sephora.

After using Darac’s TourQuam 3-D Face Sculpting Brush, I have one thing to say to all of the other makeup brushes on the market: you should be ashamed of yourselves.
For applying powder products, nothing compares to the TourQuam brush. Nothing.
This Jetsons-esque tool has a magnet hidden in the handle. Because all powders have an iron oxide, magnetic base, this brush attracts the perfect amount of product. Which means no wasting your precious powders. And no more tapping and blowing on the bristles to avoid looking like a character straight outta Kabuki theater. So not necessary.
Seriously…even you unintentionally heavy-handed makeup junkies will be amazed at how this brush keeps your ‘more is more’ tendencies in check.
Lately, I’ve been using this brush in tandem with my LORAC TANtalizer Baked Matte Satin Bronzer and Fresh Freshface Blush Powder – and I can honestly say that my golden glow and flushed cheeks have never looked more natural.
Darac TourQuam 3-D Face Sculpting Brush, nothing compares 2 u!
There really aren’t enough superlatives in the English language to adequately describe how I feel about DERMAdoctor’s KP Duty Body Scrub. It has got to be the best body scrub ever…and I dare someone to prove me wrong. After using it, my skin rivaled my pal Julia‘s; which, if you met her, would convince you to go out an buy KP Duty this very second.
KP Duty is a dual-action chemical and physical exfoliator that blends the best of a chemical peel and microdermabrasion into a single, easy-to-use treatment. Dermatologist-recommended chemical exfoliants dissolve the glue that cements epidermal cells together, while non-abrasive synthetic beads lift away dead skin cells without inflicting trauma to the epidermis. So, in layman’s terms, this product runs circles around that scrub you’ve got sitting on the edge of your tub.
To use, apply a small amount of the scrub to dry skin and gently massage it in with your fingertips. Rinse, pat dry, and marvel at the smoothness. You won’t believe that the skin you’re touching actually belongs to you.
I’m an exfoliating fool, so when I say KP Duty is the best I’ve ever tried and you NEED to try it too, you know this is sage advice. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about this scrub. It’s one of those rare beauty products that comes along once in a blue moon and blows you away. Use it on arms to reveal skin you never knew was underneath there. Use it on legs for the closest shave you’ve ever had. Use it all over to remind your man why he got with you in the first place.
Quite simply, it’s life changing.
*This product is not intended for use on the face or for those with sensitive skin. But it works wonders for those of you who suffer from dry skin and/or keratosis pilaris (a common skin disorder typified by “chicken skin” or bumpiness on the surface of the skin).
