Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Personalized Picks

christmas gift Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Personalized PicksI love gift giving. Even more than I enjoy gift receiving. It’s a fun game for me. I get a thrill out of finding the perfect present. My secret/trick is pretty simple – whenever possible, I purchase personalized gifts. People love seeing their name on things. I know I do. A thoughtful touch can turn a generic item into something the recipient will treasure for years.

Here are some of my favorite personalized gift picks for 2014:

brevity signature necklace Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Personalized PicksBrevity’s Signature Necklace ($195) is the ultimate thoughtful gift. This takes nameplate necklaces to the next level – because it’s not a font or a script. It’s a signature. And creating the necklace is as simple as uploading an image file. The necklace could be in the recipient’s handwriting, your own or someone else’s. And it doesn’t have to be a name. It could be a word, place or phrase that has special meaning. The possibilities are endless. Okay, I take back what I said at the beginning of this post. I would love to give this as a gift, but what I really, really, really want is to receive one of my own on Christmas morning.

Anthropologie Golden Monogram Mug 682x1024 Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Personalized PicksThis time of year, there are always people who you want to thank without breaking the bank. It’s tough because most gifts that cost around $10 are absolute crap. Not the Anthropologie Limited Edition Golden Monogram Mug ($10), though. It’s well made, looks like you spent a lot more, and is a gift that your recipient will actually use…a lot. It’s perfect for your kids’ teachers, a co-worker, the person who delivers your mail…the list goes on and on.

Icing Gold Monogram Initial Key Ring Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Personalized PicksThe Icing Gold Monogram Initial Key Ring ($7.50) is another great stocking stuffer that looks more expensive than it is. Icing is that kind of cheap-y store in the mall where 12-year-olds shop…so I didn’t have high hopes when I purchased a few of these online as gifts. I figured if the quality was poor, I’d simply return them. But when they arrived on my porch a few days later, I was very impressed with the quality…and I know the people receiving them will be too.   (more…)

POPSUGAR Must Have Box

POPSUGAR Must Have Box POPSUGAR Must Have BoxOne of my all-time favorite things is opening my front door to find a package waiting for me on my doorstep. Most of the time, I know what the contents are (aka the end result of a late-night online shopping spree), but the best boxes are the ones with a surprise inside. Who’s with me here?

So when POPSUGAR asked if I’d like to receive their Must Have Box and write about it on Spoiled Pretty, I couldn’t respond fast enough.

POPSUGAR’s Must Have Box is filled with full-sized beauty, fashion, home, fitness and food products – all hand-selected by POPSUGAR’s editors. To sign up, simply choose your subscription plan and each month you’ll receive a POPSUGAR Must Have Box delivered directly to your door.   (more…)

Winner of the Links Jewelry Giveaway

Giveaway: Links Jewelry Rose Gold Chain Bracelet!

links jewelry bracelet Giveaway: Links Jewelry Rose Gold Chain Bracelet!

After beauty products, handbags and jewelry are my secondary addictions. Obviously, this site is chock full of makeup reviews and you’ll also find a good amount of purse posts. But I don’t write very often about jewelry. Maybe it’s that I have such discriminating taste that I only come across a need-to-have piece once in a while. Or perhaps it’s because jewelry is such a personal thing…you find a piece you love and you want to be the only one wearing it.

Anyway, I’m writing my first jewelry post in a long time because I recently discovered some jewelry that made me swoon. And you know that when something is swoon-inducing, my natural instinct is to gab about it and spread the news far and wide.

Links Jewelry is a jewelry brand that manufactures the most gorge necklaces and bracelets – for both ladies and men. The jewelry features a patented chain and leather design that is handmade in America by American artisans. The Classic Line is finished in 14kt yellow gold, white gold, rose gold or sterling silver. The Sport Line features copper oxide, carbon microfiber and black steel treatments. Bracelet prices range from $129.00 to $559.00. Each piece is beautifully unique…like the kind that makes other women day, “OMG…that is so cute! Where did you get that?” Yeah, that kind.

But beyond creating cuteness, Links Jewelry is a socially conscious company that instills their “Look Good, Do Good, Feel Good” message in each piece they create. 10% of sales go directly towards Sean Penn’s J/P Haitian Relief Organization.  Knowing that rose gold is my metal soulmate, Links sent me some bracelets to review and they are amazeballs. Just take a look.

Check Out My New Arm Candy: Rebecca Minkoff Swing Bag

rebecca minkoff swing1 Check Out My New Arm Candy: Rebecca Minkoff Swing BagAfter beauty products, handbags are my secondary addiction. But when it comes to arm candy, I have discriminating taste. For me, the perfect handbag seamlessly marries fashion with function, is handcrafted from high-quality materials, has really unique hardware and is classic but edgy – all at the same time. I don’t like to carry the of-the-moment “it” bag. I actually like to be somewhat of a tease…I get a kick out when strangers approach me to ask about my bag and who designed it. Nine times out of ten, the answer to that question is Rebecca Minkoff.

Rebecca Minkoff’s handbags are my dreams made reality. I don’t know how she does it, but she must have a window into my soul – because every time I’m in the market for a new purse, I find that she’s designed exactly what I’m looking for. She also seems extremely cool and down to earth, plus she’s a new-ish mom, like me…so we’re totally BFIMH (Best Friends in My Head) – along with Kerry Washington, Kathy Griffin and Wendy Williams.

Anyway, so I’ve been rocking my Lodis Dahlia Joelle Hobo since December. But now that it’s spring, I’ve been itching for a brighter bag. Something that’s work appropriate but that I can also work on the weekends. And it’s gotta be crossbody because my hands are always full. My search lead me to the Rebecca Minkoff Swing Bag (in Sunny), which I just purchased (if my husband is reading this, don’t worry – I used a gift card).

rebecca minkoff swing3 Check Out My New Arm Candy: Rebecca Minkoff Swing BagPolished hardware accents the soft pebbled leather of this Rebecca Minkoff handbag. A zip pocket details the exterior, and the gusseted sides unzip to expand the silhouette. Metal studs rest at the base, while the snap top opens to a divided 4-pocket interior. The leather-laced chain strap can be doubled, singled, or tucked inside for 3 stylish options: cross-body, shoulder bag, or clutch.

Gorgeous, no? I CAN’T WAIT for the Shopbop stork to drop this baby on my doorstep. And here’s what else is coming with it (I had a little extra $ on my gift card):
