As many of you know, I am proud mama to Westley and Arwen. And as you can imagine, I enjoy spoiling them pretty and dressing them up. Westley thinks he’s grown (he’s 5 going on 15), so he’ll wear what I pick out but styles his outfit it in a way that shows his unique personality. Arwen, my baby, is only 20 months old but is a fashionista-in-training. She gravitates to items with unique and funky details, loves sparkle and bling, and enjoys getting dolled up even when we’re just hanging around the house.
She even likes shopping online (I’m pretty sure it’s genetic). When I’m shopping on my phone or iPad, she’ll lean over and point to the things I should add to my virtual cart—or shake her head when she’s less than impressed.
That’s her pictured above—modeling a Beau Loves romper that she picked out herself from Sailor Janes, an online kids fashion boutique with really cute and trendy pieces. She loves the fringe and twirling in front of the mirror watching it sway.
My favorite thing about Sailor Janes is that they sell kids clothes that are fashion-forward and special. In fact, there are a few pieces that are so cute that I wish they had adult sizes. Seriously, I would totally rock this Wolf & Rita dress and blouse.

Noodle & Boo, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…
Noodle & Boo Newborn 2-in-1 Hair & Body Wash gently cleanses Arwen’s hair and skin without stripping its natural moisture. It’s tear-free, clinically-tested for sensitive/newborn skin, mild enough for daily use and suds up well despite being sulfate-free.
Noodle & Boo Baby Balm is a nourishing cream for face and body that soothes, pampers and provides long-lasting moisture for dry, irritated skin.
My latest Noodle & Boo discovery is their Conditioning Hair Polish, which uses sunflower seed and green tea extracts to detangle and smooth, reduce frizz and protect against environmental stress. (more…)
We now interrupt your regularly scheduled beauty programming to bring you an important public service announcement for parents. If you have small children who will soon start daycare or preschool, the following is required reading.
Arwen Grace, my chipmunk-cheeked 10 week old baby, started daycare this week. While it was difficult to return to work and leave my little munchkin in the care of others, I have to admit that it was easier the second time around. With my son, Westley, I felt incredibly guilty – like I was abandoning him. And on top of that, I didn’t know what essentials and “gear” he needed for his days at daycare. This time, I’m informed and prepared. So here’s your chance to take advantage of my expertise.
For baby, you’ll obviously need diapers, wipes, ointment and bottles, but these five must have items are the real lifesavers: (more…)
I’ve been using Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Bubble Bath on my son, Westley, since he came home from the hospital 8 months ago. The brand makes a Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash, but it dried out his skin and hair. I prefer the Bubble Bath to bathe Westley because it’s tear-free, gentler on his sensitive skin, leaves his hair silky and manageable, and smells so good that I can’t stop sniffing him after bath time. Plus, it gets him as clean as a shampoo and baby wash would – and he loves playing with the bubbles!
The sulfate-, phthalate-, petrochemical- and paraben-free is great for babying mommy’s skin too. On many occasions, I’ll lather up with this product because it smells THAT good. I never let Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Bubble Bath run out in my house. There’s always a bottle on standby.
Bath time for Westley!
My son has very dry, sensitive skin so finding a lotion that deeply moisturizes without breaking him out was very important to me. I tried quite a few brands and nothing came close to Lavanila The Healthy Baby Butter. It’s a 100% natural body cream that contains Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and 30 essential vitamins and minerals. The non-greasy formula nourishes, soothes and protect against dryness. I apply The Healthy Baby Butter to Westley’s skin twice a day – and when I’m through, it’s like I just gave myself an ultra-hydrating hand treatment. Plus the fragrance is really amazing – soft yet intoxicating – like a baby should smell. I love this product so much that I buy 2-3 tubes at a time.
