Mother’s Day is this Sunday and I’m so excited. Not just because Mr. Spoiled Pretty and my son, Westley, are treating me to a decadent brunch. But because it’s an opportunity to celebrate my hero, Andrea Stamps.
I must admit that until two years ago, Mother’s Day was just another CONTINUE READING
At Christmastime, I agonized over what to get my son's daycare teachers. There are 12 of them - and even though he has his two main teachers, they all have interaction with him and take excellent care of him. So I needed to buy 12 gifts to show my appreciation, without breaking the bank. $10 each seemed doable, except CONTINUE READING
As a beauty expert, I’m embarrassed by how late I am to the BB Cream party. In the past year, so many friends and colleagues have asked me about BB Creams—what’s the buzz, which brands are the best, etc. —and they would look at me funny when I admitted to not having tried BB Creams yet. I mean, they CONTINUE READING
I’m very fickle about my fingernails. Before I paint my nails or get them professionally did, I spend a inordinate amount of time pondering my polish options. I consider the season, recent trends, my wardrobe that week and anywhere special I might go. But despite all of this planning, I’m usually over my polish choice before it even dries.

After beauty products, handbags are my secondary addiction. But when it comes to arm candy, I have discriminating taste. For me, the perfect handbag seamlessly marries fashion with function, is handcrafted from high-quality materials, has really unique hardware and is classic but edgy - all at the same time. I don't like to carry the of-the-moment "it" bag. I CONTINUE READING
Earlier this month, Kate Spade (aka creator of cuteness and the reason why I can't seem to keep money in my wallet), launched a brand new line called Kate Spade Saturday.

Kim Kardashian and her makeup artist, Stephen Moleski, just filmed another makeup how-to video! This time, they did it with E! News.
E! loved the Kim’s first video, so they collaborated for an encore. The makeup look is a fresh, everyday look.
“It’s not super-heavy, but it capitalizes on a great eyeliner to give a little definition without looking too made up during the day,” Kim says. “I really have started wearing less makeup and am loving it! The main necessities for this makeup blog is the very light eye shadows. We did gray tones, but in super-light colors! We did a beige lid with a light-gray in the crease!”
Guess what? Our girl, Kim Kardashian, is thinking of getting a tattoo. Personally, I’m not big proponent of body art – as I can’t imagine permanently inking my skin. Hell, I can’t even commit to one lipgloss for an entire day. But Kim’s inspiration changes my perspective, somewhat.
You see…last week, Kim’s sister, Khloe, had her late father’s handwriting tattooed on her inner wrist. She writes on her blog:
I have been wanting to get another tattoo for a minute now and I have been thinking long and hard about what I wanted. I was going through some of my old things the other day and I found a letter my daddy wrote me. On the card in his hand writing were the words “I love you!”. I knew that is what I wanted on my wrist. So I had his writing photo copied and I got my wrist inked…I am so happy with my tattoo. I smile every time I see it. I love seeing my fathers writing on me. It gives me comfort in a weird way.
So what do you think of Khloe’s new tattoo? Do you think Kim should get this tattoo? Or do you think she should stay tat-free and continue honoring her dad in her own way? To weigh in, visit Kim’s blog.
Guess what Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian will be doing this week? They’re going to be on the Tyra Banks show. The producers are looking for the biggest Kardashian fans to be a part of the episode. If you are over 18 years old, live in the New York City area, and are the ultimate Kardashian fan, contact Tarik ASAP and send current pictures of yourself.
By now, you’ve probably heard that Miss Spears will be performing at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. And considering the caliber of last year’s performance, I think it’s a good move…there’s nowhere to go but up, right?
To redeem herself from last year’s stringy, extension nightmare, Brit Brit is gonna get her hair did by Kim Vo. He recently revealed that the tabloid queen will sport not one…not two…but THREE different hairstyles at this year’s awards show.
The red carpet look will feature cascades of S-curls, which were all over the place at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards. To achieve this style, section hair…and starting underneath, curl hair with a 3 barrel waver. Lightly spritz with flexible-hold hair spray to set the shape, then finger comb to break up the curls. With this hairstyle, Vo advises balancing the softness of the curls with a strong part.
For the second look, Britney will sport a sophisticated, low side pony with side-swept bangs. Kinda like beauty diva, Kim K (left).
The third look, for Brit’s performance, is under lock and key.
Vo teases that we’ll have to wait until the VMAs on September 7 for the hairstyle secret to be revealed.
I know that you Kim Kardashian fans have been anxiously waiting for the finale of her “Smokey Eye” video tutorial. Today, Kim and her makeup artist, Stephen Moleski, show us how to finish the look with lush lashes and kissable lips.
* Stephen recommends fake eyelashes with a clear base, because they’re more pliable.
