Hi, my name is Daneen and I am addicted to caffeine. Two years ago, before my son was born, coffee was a luxury, not a necessity. I would occasionally partake in an occasional cup of coffee or indulge myself with a Starbucks treat. But post-Westley, I stop at Wawa every morning to pick up a 16 to 20 oz coffee – just to get my head right before work. My teeth show the signs of my coffee compulsion and they’ve been looking particularly lackluster lately.
Just last month, I was seriously considering visiting my dentist for a professional whitening treatment. But a few weeks ago, Rembrandt sent me their DEEPLY WHITE® + Peroxide Fresh Mint Toothpaste to try. So I put my dentist plans on hold and decided to give Rembrandt’s product a go. (more…)
On Tuesday, Giuliana Rancic stopped by the L’Oréal Paris 24 Hour Infallible Lounge at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles for some pampering as well as a fall makeup trends tutorial.
With her crazy schedule, Giuliana has mastered the art of stretching her beauty look to extend throughout the day and keep her looking gorgeous long into the night.
With the help of L’Oreal Paris, she got the scoop on a few new fall trend tips – including the cat eye, nude lips and a berry pout – and also learned how to do them on herself. Best of all, everything applied on her was long-wear – guaranteed to stay put for hours as she ran off to her next event camera ready.
You don’t need to be an “ E! News” co-anchor/restaurateur/mother-to-be or travel to Beverly Hills to get glam with L’Oreal Paris. Because, this week, Spoiled Pretty is partnering with them for an AMAZEBALLS giveaway that would make Giuliana proud. (more…)
A few weeks ago, I received a massive package from the kind folks at L’Oreal Paris. Inside was mountain of makeup, skincare and hair products. There’s entirely too many products to get through in this one little post, so this will be the first in a series of L’Oreal Paris product reviews.
First up is my favorite: L’Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail Lacquer Liner. The first time I used it, the pot went straight from my review pile right into my makeup bag – and it’s been there ever since. Whether you’re in the market for a new liner or you have a million (like me) and don’t think you need any more, L’Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail Lacquer Liner is a must-have. It’s the bidness, y’all. And here’s why: (more…)
A few weeks ago Bite Beauty sent over two of their new Lush Lip Tints for me to try. They have a bunch of colors that look cute – I got cherry and black currant and I really like both. They are lightly scented, and go on really smooth. They’re hydrating but not super slick or sticky like some glosses can be. The formula also has some staying power, which was nice. And the shades are flattering and not too bright. (more…)
Red lipstick used to really intimidate me. It was something I saw on the runways of New York City, Milan, and Paris; the red carpet; or on Dita Von Teese. I rarely saw anyone attempt this look in real life, which did not help my anxiety!
A few months ago, I instituted a personal beauty rule, to help overcome my fear. This rule is: on Wednesdays, we wear red lipstick. Yes, I was directly inspired by the movie Mean Girls, and their “On Wednesdays we wear pink” rule, and yes, I am totally okay with admitting that. (more…)

I usually spend about five minutes on my makeup every morning. Before leaving the house (yes, I’m one of those girls) I apply foundation, pressed powder, eyeliner, mascara, and lip stain – at minimum. I recently tested all of the products in this kit, minus the lipgloss. No offense to MAKE UP FOR EVER, but I’m not a gloss girl.
First, here is a photo of me with no makeup on. This is what I start with.
I first applied the HD Microperfecting Primer, which made my skin feel smooth and wasn’t too heavy. I then applied my regular foundation. Next up was the Aqua Eyes eyeliner (inside upper lid, and on upper lid), which was precise but had smude-ability. I added Aqua Cream in 13 from the liner to my brow bone, and it gave the perfect amount of color and highlight. Then two coats of Smoky Lash Mascara, which I was probably the most curious about. My lashes are long, and hit my brow bone, so at the end of every day I have to make sure I haven’t turned into a raccoon. Finally, I dusted the HD Microfinish Powder over my entire face.
This whole process took about 10 minutes. I was eager to see if my extra time in the morning would hold up by the end of the day. This is what I looked like at 8 a.m., post makeup application.
I then walked eight blocks to work on a foggy and humid day, had a typical seven hour day at work, and walked home the eight blocks in the humidity. This was unintentionally the perfect day to test these products!
Here is a photo of what I looked like when I got home.
Everything had held up really well! The eyeliner, Aqua Cream, and mascara looked as good as they had 10 hours earlier. My foundation had melted a little, mostly in the T-zone area, which was to be expected after a humid day.
Overall, I adore this product set, and it was absolutely worth doubling the amount of time I spend applying makeup in the morning. I would suggest this most to ladies who have a long day ahead of them, and no time for a mirror check. Trust me, all MAKE UP FOR EVER products will stay exactly where you applied them, and you will look fresh and lovely (not made-up and cakey).
