Because Shaving is the Pits: DERMAdoctor Gorilla Warfare Antiperspirant Giveaway!

My hair grows like a weed. Unfortunately, the hair of which I speak is not on my head. My legs and underarms give my razor a workout. If I shave in the morning, by afternoon, I've got stubble. And forget about skipping days...unless I want to look like Sasquatch. Getting rid of the hair is not only expensive (I CONTINUE READING

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: BlowPro Perfect Shower Cap

The shower and my chemically-straightened hair are frenemies. Every seventh day when I wash my hair, they get along great in a shampoo Shangri-la. But the rest of the week, I employ a shower cap to keep the steam from undoing the silky straightness. I have been wearing shower caps since I was a child, and I’ve tried them CONTINUE READING

Get Catty With Wildfox Catfarer Sunglasses

I've been searching for some cat eye sunnies for forever. On a whim, I bought these Wildfox Catfarer Sunglasses from Shopbop - hoping that they wouldn't look too cartoonish. Even though I was afraid they'd be too large, I'm digging the oversized frames. They make a statement without overwhelming my face. And the cat eye shape is subtle, so it's not CONTINUE READING

spoiled pretty baking cookies Vaseline Intense Rescue Lotion Comes In Handy

This past weekend, I embarked one of my favorite winter activities. I channeled my inner Betty Crocker by baking some delicious oatmeal and walnut chocolate chip cookies with my son, Westley.

I’ve never made cookies with him, so I wasn’t expecting to make such a mess.  But to be fair, any activity with a 2-year-old boy is going to get your hands dirty.

Anyway, between the measuring, mixing and sectioning the dough on the baking sheet, we must have washed our hands at least six or seven times.  But, afterwards, my hands were no worse for wear – because right before I rewarded my tummy with a tasty treat, I treated my hands to a generous helping of Vaseline Intensive Rescue Lotion.

Vaseline Intensive Rescue Lotion is proven to relieve dry skin after just one application, so it was the first thing I reached for after the cookies went into the oven. It also helps to heal dry skin in three days, so slathering it on regularly has imparted softness that rivals my toddler’s.

Vaseline Intensive Rescue Lotion Answers Your Dry Skin SOS

Posted on by daneen in Dry Skin, Eczema, Featured, Hands, Lotion | Leave a comment

20.3oz IR Repairing Moisture Fragrance Free Vaseline Intensive Rescue Lotion Answers Your Dry Skin SOSI dread the cold. My skin gets Sahara dry and I’m prone to eczema.  Not all year round – just December through March.  Sometimes, my eczema is just a minor irritation.  Other days, I’m covered with dry patches and the itchiness is almost too much to endure.  In the decade that I’ve been suffering from this seasonal affliction, I’ve learned that prevention is the best medicine.  So when the mercury drops, I become a moisturizing fool.  Day and night, I layer on the lotion – praying that I can keep the bumps at bay.

But this winter, I’m very confident that I can keep my eczema under control – thanks to my new secret weapon: Vaseline Intensive Rescue Lotion.

Vaseline Intensive Rescue is a line of powerful and therapeutic moisturizing lotions that not only feel good, but also have been proven to relieve dry skin after just one use and help heal dry skin in three days.  I’ve been using it for a few days and I can assure you that this is not hyperbole.  I noticed a dramatic improvement in my skin the first time I used it.  After smoothing it on, I was shocked at how it instantly hydrated my skin (no more itchy tightness) – leaving it silky smooth all day, without greasy residue.

Though it works like magic, there is actually some hard core science behind Vaseline Intensive Rescue lotion.  Stratys-3, a multi-layer moisturizing complex, infuses and suspends moisture across multiple layers of the skin (the top, the core and deep down).

Now, I know some of you are thinking, “I don’t have eczema. What can Vaseline Intensive Rescue do for me?” Well, it instantly boosts moisture levels by 300% and delivers 24 hours of hydration…so if you’re in the market for a new winter lotion, you’d be a smart gal to add it to your shopping list.

Vaseline Intensive Rescue comes in three  variants:

Stay tuned for an upcoming post where I’ll put Vaseline Intensive Rescue Lotion to the ultimate test.  My winter challenge will be baking cookies with Westley (cooking with a 2-year-old is going to require lots of hand washing), and I’ll report back on how Intensive Rescue comes in handy (pun intended).

Holiday Gift Guide 2012: Kiehl’s Creme de Corps

kiehls creme de corps holiday1 Holiday Gift Guide 2012: Kiehls Creme de Corps I am seriously late to the Kiehl’s Creme de Corps party, but I have been making up for lost time ever since the brand gifted me with my very first bottle.

Creme de Corps, thanks to its decadently rich and pampering formula, has been a Kiehl’s favorite for over four decades. I’ve been using it to lock in moisture all day and leave my skin baby smooth. It has also come in handy, literally, for my husband (aka ‘Sandpaper Hands’). Just when we thought that his parched and cracked hands were beyond hope, Creme de Corps brought them back to life. Carols Daughter Joy of Vanilla Body Indulgence Trio Holiday Gift Guide 2012: Carols Daughter Joy of Vanilla Body Indulgence TrioCarol’s Daughter Joy of Vanilla Body Indulgence Trio is the gift for that vanilla lover in your life. I, myself, am a vanilla fiend. It’s my absolute favorite fragrance. But I have a discerning nose. Not all confection-scented beauty products are created equal and many are downright amateur and juvenile. Carol’s Daughter, on the other hand, does vanilla justice and offers some of the most elegant and inspired takes on the classic scent.

“Vanilla is one of my favorite notes to work with; it blends so beautifully with almost anything. Vanilla is warm and loving and conjures up happy thoughts, and at the same time it can add a subtle sensuality to a scent. Included in this set are two of our most popular vanilla fragrances from the past few years and an exciting new vanilla.” —Lisa Price, Founder of Carol’s Daughter

Carol’s Daughter Joy of Vanilla Body Indulgence Trio in Joy Box includes:

  • 4 oz. Sugar-Dipped Vanilla Body Cream (notes of water lily, vanilla and cotton candy)
  • 4 oz. Vanilla Petals Body Cream (notes of French marshmallow, soft florals and vanilla)
