I think I have a new favorite nail polish. I’d never tried Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nail Lacquer before, so I requested a few shades for review. I cannot believe what I’ve been missing! Their polishes are absolutely beautiful. The coverage is opaque and even – and the shades are unique and eye catching. When I look for a new nail polish, I’m always looking for colors I’ve never seen before – and their collection is just that. (more…)
Over the weekend, I joined my friend and Spoiled Pretty contributor, Aimee, for lunch followed by a mani-pedi sesh. Because I’m a member of their Blogger Network, OPI sent me their new Nordic Collection for Fall 2014 – and I shared my beauty bounty with my friend. (more…)
NARS Founder and Creative Director François Nars launched his namesake brand with a collection of 12 unforgettable lipsticks. Now, in celebration of its 20th Anniversary, NARS pays tribute to its beginnings with the launch of The Audacious Lipstick Collection: lipsticks so shamelessly seductive in touch and texture, the sensation is absolutely audacious. The innovative, pigment-rich formula delivers an intense, full-coverage finish in a single stroke, while nutrient rich ingredients are known to smooth, moisturize and volumize. This 40-shade collection features a full range of provocative hues from neutral nudes to striking reds and bold pinks. Housed in a modern, matte-black metallic case with a magnetic closure, the specially designed sculpted bullet is embossed with the NARS logo. (more…)
Now that I have two kids – and the youngest being 6 weeks old – I needed to get better acquainted with quick-dry nail polish options. I hardly have time to do anything, let alone a DIY – so I needed to find some lacquers that fit my new lifestyle. (more…)
OPI is collaborating with The Coca-Cola Company this summer. Several of the The Coca-Cola Company’s most recognized brands – including Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, Sprite and Fanta – will be the inspiration for a line of OPI limited edition nail lacquers that will launch internationally in June 2014.
“As the global leader in the professional nail industry, OPI is thrilled to partner with the world’s top beverage company, The Coca-Cola Company,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder and Executive Vice President. “These two iconic brands truly deliver happiness in a bottle – whether it’s a refreshing, invigorating sip of Coke or a set of fingers and toes perfectly polished with OPI nail lacquer.”
I’m a gray nail polish kind of girl. Gray is what I naturally gravitate to when I’m at the nail salon or in the store shopping for new colors. It’s neutral and edgy all at the same time. Anyway, for the past four years, my favorite gray nail polish has been OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques! – a dark greige (combo of gray and brown). And I didn’t think any gray lacquer could get more love from me, until my mom (of all people) introduced me to Essie’s Chinchilly.
Mama Spoiled Pretty, who usually rocks bright and metallic manicures, tried Chinchilly on a whim and has been obsessed ever since. She wears it quite often, and when she does, I always notice her nails and tell her how nice they look. So this weekend, while spending the day at my parents’ house, I decided to try Chinchilly for myself. In the bottle, it looks like a lighter version of my OPI fave. But on my nails, the gray leans a little lavender – which gives it a more feminine feel. It also looks amazeballs with a sparkly topcoat.
The shade is universally flattering, which I don’t often say (because most of the time, it’s not true). Honestly, I’ve seen this color on tons of women and it looks great on everyone. I can’t believe it took me this long to get acquainted.
I love Jacques, but Chinchilly is what I’ll reach for – from now on – when I’m feeling gray.
This month, OPI launches eight new limited edition shades inspired and hand-selected by multiple Grammy Award winning recording artist Mariah Carey. These shades include four new OPI Liquid Sand™ lacquers featuring groundbreaking technology for a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle.
“OPI is extremely excited to work with Mariah,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “She’s very passionate about beauty and her nails in particular. Her music, which includes 18 Billboard No. 1 singles, served as a wonderful inspiration for glamorous, sultry, vibrant colors.
“To pay homage to her iconic status, we wanted to launch her collection with something completely new and exciting. OPI Liquid Sand nail lacquer offers a never-before-seen look with a pebbled finish that lightly shimmers with fine glitter particles. Worn without top coat, Liquid Sand lacquer gives nails a unique textured matte finish worthy of a superstar.”
Mariah Carey by OPI includes four Studio Shades – ranging from pink glitter to rich plum crème – and four Stage Shades – each featuring the new textured finish. Studio Shades include:
Stage Shades include: Stay the Night (Make it last in this matte black with red glints), Get Your Number (Wearing this matte blue with sparkles is a great call), Can’t Let Go (Hold onto this matte purple with dazzling sparkle), and The Impossible (This matte fuchsia with star confetti will never give up). OPI Liquid Sand lacquers should always be worn without top coat.
