As a beauty blogger, I have the privilege of testing products before they’re released en masse. One that I insist you pre-order right this very second is Dior Vernis in Melisse. This metallic and seriously smoked-out purple won’t be available until July 17th at Nordstrom, but you can reserve it now so that you can wear the hell out of it later.
The other Nordstrom Anniversary Beauty Exclusives Dior Vernis shade is Violine Mystique, a creamy, inky grape.

This morning in Paris, the Lancôme makeup team unveiled their fall 2009 color collection, Declaring Indigo.
Created by Lancôme artistic director for makeup Aaron De Mey, this collection celebrates Paris in all its vibrancy. Aaron chose shades that represent the glamour, the energy and the passion of Paris – indigo blue, bright red and luxurious gold.
Lancôme debuted a few key shades during Fashion Week. At Chris Benz, all three Le Vernis nail colors were showcased: Golden Audacity, Indigo Paris and Rouge Liberty.
Lancôme spokesmodel Daria Werbowy is the face of the collection. She was photographed by Mario Sorrenti for the ad (above).
Declaring Indigo will be available for sale starting in August, but Nordstrom has a limited-edition Declaring Indigo brush-and-makeup bag set available for pre-order now.

Hands down, my next nail polish purchase will be Essie’s Cute As A Button – a “juicy persimmon delight” from the brand’s summer 2009 collection. My nails are calling its name!
Today, I stopped by the Bloomie’s MAC counter at the Willow Grove Mall to pick up a few necessities (MAC Clear Lipglass and Nail Lacquer in Peaceable).
While I was there, my girl Hope showed me the coolest trick with the new Style Warrior Nail Lacquers. Paint on a layer of Violet Fire, then let dry. Then apply a layer of Mercenary.
When it’s all said and done, it looks almost identical to one of my fave MAC lipsticks, O.
Please pardon my raggedy cuticles and sloppy paint job. But trust me, it’s gorge in person.
I don’t look good in peach, so I was pleasantly surprised that it looks good on me. Case in point: two of Chanel‘s offerings from Cote d’Azur, the brand’s summer 2009 collection.
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Orange Fizz drenches nails in a vibrant, orange creamsicle shade that looks gorge against golden tanned skin…which I happen to have (year-round, I might add). Oh, don’t hate…appreciate! Two coats of Orange Fizz followed by a layer of Seche Vite creates a pretty pedi that looks ‘just-did’ for 2 weeks!
And I’m absolutely head over heels for Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in In Love. At first glance, it seems a doppelganger for NARS Orgasm Blush. But upon closer inspection, you’ll find that the pigment is less sheer and sparkly. Light brown girls who have been disappointed by NARS‘ best-selling blush will absolutely swoon over In Love’s peachy glow.
