I don’t look good in peach, so I was pleasantly surprised that it looks good on me. Case in point: two of Chanel‘s offerings from Cote d’Azur, the brand’s summer 2009 collection.
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Orange Fizz drenches nails in a vibrant, orange creamsicle shade that looks gorge against golden tanned skin…which I happen to have (year-round, I might add). Oh, don’t hate…appreciate! Two coats of Orange Fizz followed by a layer of Seche Vite creates a pretty pedi that looks ‘just-did’ for 2 weeks!
And I’m absolutely head over heels for Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in In Love. At first glance, it seems a doppelganger for NARS Orgasm Blush. But upon closer inspection, you’ll find that the pigment is less sheer and sparkly. Light brown girls who have been disappointed by NARS‘ best-selling blush will absolutely swoon over In Love’s peachy glow.
The choice is yours…Truth, Dare or both?

Today, I’ll be on the NBC 10! Show again…this time, chatting about my favorite summer beauty must-haves.
On my nails, I’ll be rocking MAC Violet Fire Nail Lacquer – from the new Style Warrior color collection.
As a beauty expert, I have the skinny on which trends are going to blow up come next season. And one that I’m particularly excited about is matte nail polish.
Most of the upcoming matte nail polish formulations haven’t yet hit shelves, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait until fall to rock the trend. The June issue of In Style Magazine has a great tip:
“Simply use your base coat as a top coat to remove shine from your nail lacquer.”
Genius! Thanks, In Style!
If you’re a nail phile, you really must visit (and bookmark) my girl Michelle’s blog, All Lacquered Up…and not just because I’m featured in today’s installment of her weekly column, What’s On Your Nails.
All Lacquered Up is the web’s first (and best, by a landslide) nail focused beauty blog. Michelle’s site serves as an outlet to share her intense love of color and all things nails. Regular features include nail trends, nail lacquer collection reviews and industry insider interviews.
Thanks for showing Spoiled Pretty some love, Michelle!
Okay, I realize that summer hasn’t yet arrived. But Zoya has some exciting news for fall 2009, and it’s impossible for me to keep my big mouth shut until July. Just can’t do it.
After working with hundreds of matte formulations and color options, the Zoya color experts have just announced three limited edition MATTEVELVET shades for fall.
Loredana: gunmetal gray matte shimmer
Dovima: black matte shimmer
Posh: wine matte shimmer
Designed to appeal to a multitude of matte color trend lovers (including every metro mod, vintage stylista, retro pin up, goth beauty, street chic fashionista and color junkie out there), MATTEVELVET shades deliver the new color of fashion. Zoya’s exclusive blend of matte base and subtle shimmer result in utterly wearable and truly stylish nail polish.
MATTEVELVET is not intended to be worn with a base coat, top coat or speed dryer of any kind. And due to the unique matte formulation, the color isn’t as long-wearing as Zoya’s traditional nail color.
MATTEVELVET will be available starting June 1, 2009 and retails for $6 per bottle.
