I don’t know what it is. But no matter how hot my nails are looking, I always have nail envy…especially when it comes to my colleague/next door office neighbor, Angela. Every other week, she shows up wearing some super hot color that gives my mani an inferiority complex.
Right now, I’m totally crushing on this grape shade (crushing – get it?) – from OPI‘s Shrek collection.
A judge may have sentenced Lindsay Lohan to 90 days in jail followed by a 90 day stint in rehab, but it was the wild child – or rather her manicure – that had the last word(s).
What do you think of LiLo giving the judge the middle finger, on the down low? Should the court hold Lindsay, and her profane polish, in contempt? Or should they just be thankful her crazy ass actually showed up this time?
Dying for a Minx mani, but the nail art trend hasn’t yet arrived in your town? Well, Sephora has something in store for you. Literally.
Chic Print for Nails ($15) are pre-cut nail patches – brewed by Minx – that create customized nails, featuring fierce patterns and prints to satisfy your wildest mani-and-pedi dreams. Dress your tips with your favorite design: anchor, stars, checkers, tiger, fishnet, chrome lace, black & gold geometric, or skulls.
One set of Chic Print for Nails contains 16 nail patches of varying widths, for a one-time application to fingers or toes. The nail patch is a solid-film material with an adhesive back that is heat activated. Applying heat creates conformability, allowing the patch to fit over the compound curves of your nails and seal onto the nail bed. The patent-pending material also removes easily with heat.
Just an update on my current mani: I’m on day six and my polish looks as perfect and fresh as day 1. I’m so impressed with Orly’s Sweet Collection and so taken with my candy-colored nails that I’m hosting a giveaway!
One lucky winner will receive the entire set:
Gumdrop: pastel turquoise crème
Cotton Candy: baby pink crème
Lollipop: pastel purple crème
Pixy Stix: salmon crème
Snowcone: baby blue crème
Lemonade: pastel yellow crème
And each polish in this collection comes with a free matching flavored mini lip gloss key chain!
To enter the giveaway, leave a message in the comments section; make sure to leave your email or another way for me to get in touch, just in case you get lucky. Contest is open to U.S. residents only. The giveaway ends at noon (EST) on Thursday, April 15, 2010. Good luck!
While they appear almost identical in the bottle, the subtle differences become more obvious during application. First, Particulière is lighter than its OPI counterpart. It is also more brown than YDKJ, which is more gray. Finally, the Chanel formula is more opaque and creamier – so the coverage is better than OPI.
If taupe-y nail polishes are a once in a while kind of thing for you, there’s no reason you need both. But if you’re like me and can’t get enough of an offbeat yet neutral nail, I would recommend picking this up – even if you already have YDKJ.
Add this to the “why didn’t I think of this” list: the 2 Carat Cup. The handle on this oversized porcelain mug looks like a solitaire diamond ring. Lianne and I discovered this little treasure at a Fashion Week event. It will soon be available on HSN.
