“It’s a spirit and style that’s absolutely original and comes from within. It’s an attitude, an elusive accessory. It’s that indefinable quality of self-expression that creates a look that sets a woman apart. I’ve always said if I could bottle it, I would…and now I have.” -Vera Wang
If Vera Wang’s romantically modern designs had a smell, it would be Look, her latest fragrance. Like her fashion, this clean, floral scent represents a measured study in texture, color, silhouette and proportion.
A sparkling elixir of mandarin and watery greens are layered with lush notes of lychee and golden delicious apple, filling the topnote with a burst of energy and freshness. The vibrant floral bouquet of lily, freesia and jasmine envelopes with femininity and elegance. A natural sensuality is enhanced in the drydown of indulgent vanilla and skin musk. Touches of oakmoss and patchouli create balance with warmth, depth and character.
The bottle, with it’s contrasting proportions and architectural refinement, is also inspired by Vera’s ready to wear line.
The LOOK Fragrance Collection includes Parfum Elixir, Eau de Parfum Spray, Sheer Body Lotion, Velvet Body Crème, Satin Shower Crème.
This week, Spoiled Pretty is giving away three 1 oz bottles of Look Eau de Parfum Spray!
To enter, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The subject line should read “Vera Wang Look Giveaway.” The contest ends at midnight (EST) on Sunday, December 21st. Three winners will be chosen at random from among the entrants. On Monday, December 22nd, I’ll announce the winners’ names. Please, only one entry per person; duplicate entries will not increase your chances of winning. Contest is open to U.S. and Canadian residents only.
Kenzo Parfums is celebrating 20 years in the biz by re-launching their website, kenzousa.com. Today, the newly re-designed website is unveiled to the public – and to mark the occasion, they’re hosting their first ever Friends and Family Anniversary Event! Now through November 24th, get 20% off your entire purchase at kenzousa.com.
And just in time for the Friends and Family promotion, Kenzo debuts a rich and spicy new fragrance for her – KenzoAmour Le Parfum. The perfect scent for cooler weather, KenzoAmour Le Parfum is a woody oriental evocative of a slow, sensuous journey through the exotic landscapes of Asia. The richness of benzoin balm and amber combines with the softness of frangipani blossom and vanilla to bring forth a new story in Kenzo’s Asian voyage. Inspired by the ethereal shrines of the East, designer Karim Rashid’s original bottle design has been dipped in a matte gold finish, reminiscent of the precious offerings made to the deities as thanks for the good fortune bestowed.
Actress and new Bond Girl Olga Kurylenko is the face of the fragrance, which launched this past weekend – coinciding with the national release of Quantum of Solace.
KenzoAmour Le Parfum is available in 1 oz and 1.7 oz ($52/$68 with the 20% discount, $65/$85 without).
Think it’s impossible to find a new fragrance? Never dream of buying perfume as a gift? Scentmap.com is about to change your tune, Negative Nelly.
Based on your current fragrance, Scentmap will recommend new perfumes with similar notes and personality. A ‘remote control’ on the sidebar allows users to fine-tune selection criteria by choosing simple characteristics (i.e. warm or fresh, extroverted or intimate, classic or new, rare or star).
The site boasts a library of fragrances from 59 brands, though I wouldn’t go so far as to compare it to Google…the press page likens the site to “the Google of Perfumes.” For example, Scentmap doesn’t have two of my favorites on file, Philosophy Amazing Grace and Hanae Mori Butterfly.
But if I click on Prada Infusion d’Iris (one of the top five fragrances on the market right now…and my current obsession), Scentmap will suggest Calvin Klein Obsession Night, Fendi Palazzo, YSL Cinema, Guerlain L’Heure Bleue and Stella McCartney Sheer Stella.
And coming soon to Scentmap.com: a forum where you can converse with other fragrance fans, as well as a masculine component so that you can shop for your man.
