Mom and me, circa 1979

Mother’s Day is this Sunday and I’m so excited. Not just because Mr. Spoiled Pretty and my son, Westley, are treating me to a decadent brunch. But because it’s an opportunity to celebrate my hero, Andrea Stamps.
I must admit that until two years ago, Mother’s Day was just another CONTINUE READING
At Christmastime, I agonized over what to get my son's daycare teachers. There are 12 of them - and even though he has his two main teachers, they all have interaction with him and take excellent care of him. So I needed to buy 12 gifts to show my appreciation, without breaking the bank. $10 each seemed doable, except CONTINUE READING
As a beauty expert, I’m embarrassed by how late I am to the BB Cream party. In the past year, so many friends and colleagues have asked me about BB Creams—what’s the buzz, which brands are the best, etc. —and they would look at me funny when I admitted to not having tried BB Creams yet. I mean, they CONTINUE READING
I’m very fickle about my fingernails. Before I paint my nails or get them professionally did, I spend a inordinate amount of time pondering my polish options. I consider the season, recent trends, my wardrobe that week and anywhere special I might go. But despite all of this planning, I’m usually over my polish choice before it even dries.

After beauty products, handbags are my secondary addiction. But when it comes to arm candy, I have discriminating taste. For me, the perfect handbag seamlessly marries fashion with function, is handcrafted from high-quality materials, has really unique hardware and is classic but edgy - all at the same time. I don't like to carry the of-the-moment "it" bag. I CONTINUE READING
Earlier this month, Kate Spade (aka creator of cuteness and the reason why I can't seem to keep money in my wallet), launched a brand new line called Kate Spade Saturday.

Today, Avon announced it has signed actress Zoë Saldana to be the spokeswoman for the brand’s new fragrance, Eternal Magic, debuting April 2010. In addition to supporting Eternal Magic, Saldana will also be featured in the company’s brochure as a face of Avon’s color cosmetics category in the coming months.
“I’m very proud to be working with Avon and to be the face of Eternal Magic,” says Saldana. “It means so much to me to be associated with a company that shares my values and believes in empowering women.”
“We are thrilled to have Zoë as the spokesperson for Eternal Magic. Every woman wants to be unforgettable and Zoë perfectly embodies that feeling. She’s a rising star in Hollywood – and has built a strong reputation for playing empowering characters that leave a lasting impression,” says Geralyn Breig, Senior Vice President and President of Avon North America. “We were drawn to her inner and outer beauty, and feel she represents the perfect combination of strength and femininity.”
An unforgettable fragrance that leaves an indelible impression, Eternal Magic creates everlasting memories with a fragrance signature that lingers in the air. The artfully crafted fragrance takes inspiration from the rare Princess Monaco Rose. The enchanting scent is the embodiment of the unique magic that surrounds mysterious, alluring women everywhere.
Though you can’t buy Kim Kardashian’s new fragrance until February, you can get a sneak peek at Sephora.com and be notified when it’s available for purchase.
The essence evokes Kim’s sultry style with crisp top notes, lush mid notes, and a sexy drydown. Gorgeous, voluptuous florals reflect her allure, while soft jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia mirror her femininity. Tonka bean, jacaranda wood, and sandalwood add a warm, sensual base.
The Kim Kardashian fragrance collection includes: 1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray ($35), 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum Spray ($50), 3.4 oz Eau de Parfum Spray ($65), and .33 oz Eau de Parfum Rollerball ($16).
Glam Princess is “for the boldly brilliant girl who is ready to celebrate and rule the world in the most glamorous way. She introduces herself with guava and juicy pear, reveals her beautiful heart with liquid honey and vanilla orchid, and offers sweet depth with marshmallow accord and cedarwood.”
Zoe Kravitz has succeeded Camila Belle as the new face of Vera Wang Princess. Descended from rock/celeb royalty (her parents are Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet), I think she’s a great choice to usher Princess into the a new decade.
So, does Glam Princess rule? I actually haven’t sniffed Glam Princess yet, but I own – and adore – the other Princess incarnations (Flower Princess, Rock Princess and the original Princess, which I wore on my wedding day)…so I plan to stop by Sephora this week and get a whiff. I’ll let you know what my nose thinks soon.
Vera Wang Glam Princess comes in 1 oz Eau de Toilette Spray ($45), 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette Spray ($72), and 5 oz Satiny Body Lotion ($32).
Last year, I wanted to buy my sister, Lauren (an Amazing Grace newbie), a gift set. I searched all over the Internet and in stores to find the most comprehensive collection at a low price point…and nothing even came close to this one. Lauren loved it, and I was so happy to share one of my favorite scents with my lil sis.
The Gift of Grace or Love 4-Piece Fragrance Collection (available in Amazing Grace, Pure Grace, and Falling in Love) features Philosophy’s highest-concentrated eau de parfum fragrance plus hand cream, body lotion, and 3-in-1 shower gel or shower cream – all in full sizes! It also includes a bonus bar soap. Perfectly packaged, the set is ready for giving.
Purchased separately, the products would cost you $119. But on QVC.com, it’s only $71. And today, it’s on sale for the low, low price of $58.74!
Congrats to Joyce Berzenski, Anne Gordon and Lauren Ledley – winners of the In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon Giveaway. These winners will receive the limited edition Parfum ($59), that features a lavishly sensual and concentrated mix of blooming flowers. It is housed in a special gift box, featuring a bottle charm of Reese’s monogram!
In Bloom sparkles with a provocative blend of notes, including: Georgia Peach Tea Leaves, Crisp Greens, Star Gardenia, Magical Magnolia, Night Blossoming Jasmine, Cashmere Woods, Hypnotic Florals, and Amber Wood Crystals.
Many thanks to Avon for sponsoring the giveaway! Stay tuned for your next opportunity to get spoiled pretty.
