Welp, folks, it looks like Kanye finally wore Anna Wintour down and got his baby mama a coveted Vogue cover. So the rumors were true. There was buzz a few months back that Kim would cover the fashion bible, but then everyone assumed it would be a foreign Vogue - given Anna's alleged aversion to all things Kardashian. Urban Decay Naked Naked2 Naked3 Palettes Which Urban Decay Naked Palette Is For You?

Hey All! I’m sure many of you are wondering, with this new Urban Decay Naked 3 palette release, if it’s right for you – or if you if you’re a UD Naked palettes newbie, which one is a good fit.  As this is their third palette in the Naked series, I feel like it’s pretty important to understand how this one compares to the previously released Naked and Naked 2 palettes. Naked 3 has an overall rose gold theme with 12 eyeshadows in a pretty, wave-textured tin case.

Urban Decay Naked Palettes Which Urban Decay Naked Palette Is For You?

Each palette has 12 shadows, generally flowing from light to dark. The current selling palettes all come with a synthetic eyeshadow brush. Generally speaking, Naked has mostly warm neutrals, Naked 2 is in the neutral-to-taupe range with more drastic light and dark shadows, and Naked 3 is distinctly more pink with a lot of mid-to-light shades. Naked 3 has no copycat shadows in any other collection, which is nice for you palette hoarders out there (you know who you are!) who don’t want dupes.

Prime Time with Olay Regenerist

Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex Prime Time with Olay RegeneristAs a beauty expert, women always ask me for tips on long-lasting, fresh-looking, flawless makeup. And my answer is always the same: make time to prime. It doesn’t matter whether you have 50 minutes or 5 minutes to apply your makeup – you should always take the time to prep your canvas to achieve the best result possible. You wouldn’t apply a saturated, matte lipstick to dry and cracking lips – would you? And you wouldn’t dream of wearing that bodycon dress without slipping into some Spanx, right? The same theory applies to your face.

Now that you understand the importance of prime time—as I like to call it—it’s equally important to find the right priming products for you. Primers aren’t just the product you put on your face before foundation. In fact, my favorite primers are actual skincare products that have priming benefits. As a mom and a businesswoman, I have very little time to mess around – so I appreciate priming products that do double duty, like two of my new favorites from Olay Regenerist.

Olay Regenerist’s new Advanced Anti-Aging Wrinkle Revolution Complex ($24.99) is a moisturizer that utilizes optics-based skincare to smooth skin and instantly relax the appearance of wrinkles. I’ve been using this moisturizer for the past few weeks and I love it. It provides just the right level of hydration and moisture for my finicky skin, leaves a velvety soft finish, and smells great too. The product’s priming qualities help my makeup glide on like a dream and lock it on for all-day wear.Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Eye Cream Lash Serum Duo Prime Time with Olay Regenerist

I’ve also been using the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Eye Cream & Lash Serum Duo ($25.99), a 360° anti-aging eye care solution, designed to treat lids, lines and lashes for younger looking eyes that are brighter and firmer in one week. The dual-ended product contains an eye cream that smoothes and firms the appearance of lids and softens fine lines, while the lash serum instantly thickens and nourishes lashes. This product really helps prep my eye area for shadow, liner and mascara.

But what I love most about these new Olay Regenerist products is that they can be used with or without makeup. If you’re having a low-maintenance kind of day, just apply a little to bare skin and it gives you a you-but-better look.

Just proof, once again, that it doesn’t take a million bucks to look like, well, a million bucks.

Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder Gel Monistat Makes a Face Primer? Well, Sort Of...

If you’re like me and your thighs touch when you walk, you understand how literally irritating this can be. Especially during the summertime, the friction can cause chafing, rashes and overall discomfort. To combat this, I had taken to wearing my Spanx ‘Slimplicity’ High-Waisted Girl Shorts under dresses and skirts. But in oppressive heat and humidity, the last thing you want is an extra layer of clothes. So I was over the moon when I discovered Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel. The easy-to-apply gel dries to form a silky, breathable barrier to fight friction. One application lasts all day – plus it’s fragrance-free and non-staining.

What’s even better? It doubles as a makeup primer. Yes, girl, you heard me me right. The formula looks, feels and performs almost exactly like Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. Except Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel costs around $7-8 (click here for a $2 coupon) for 1.5 oz and a 1.7 oz tube of the Smashbox primer will set you back $49!

best+of+make+up+for+ever+kit Polished: Best of MAKE UP FOR EVER Kit
As a fan of long-wear makeup, I was ecstatic to receive the Wild and Chic Best of MAKE UP FOR EVER Kit.

It includes:

  • HD Microfinish Powder
  • Aqua Cream in 13 Warm Beige (champagne shimmer)
  • Travel Aqua Eyes in Mat Black 0L (black)
  • Lab Shine in Star Collection – S4 (pearly pink beige)
  • HD Microperfecting Primer
  • Smoky Lash Extra Black Mascara
I usually spend about five minutes on my makeup every morning. Before leaving the house (yes, I’m one of those girls) I apply foundation, pressed powder, eyeliner, mascara, and lip stain – at minimum. I recently tested all of the products in this kit, minus the lipgloss. No offense to MAKE UP FOR EVER, but I’m not a gloss girl.

none Polished: Best of MAKE UP FOR EVER KitFirst, here is a photo of me with no makeup on. This is what I start with.

I first applied the HD Microperfecting Primer, which made my skin feel smooth and wasn’t too heavy. I then applied my regular foundation. Next up was the Aqua Eyes eyeliner (inside upper lid, and on upper lid), which was precise but had smude-ability. I added Aqua Cream in 13 from the liner to my brow bone, and it gave the perfect amount of color and highlight. Then two coats of Smoky Lash Mascara, which I was probably the most curious about. My lashes are long, and hit my brow bone, so at the end of every day I have to make sure I haven’t turned into a raccoon. Finally, I dusted the HD Microfinish Powder over my entire face.

This whole process took about 10 minutes. I was eager to see if my extra time in the morning would hold up by the end of the day. This is what I looked like at 8 a.m., post makeup application.
during Polished: Best of MAKE UP FOR EVER Kit
I then walked eight blocks to work on a foggy and humid day, had a typical seven hour day at work, and walked home the eight blocks in the humidity. This was unintentionally the perfect day to test these products!

Here is a photo of what I looked like when I got home.
after Polished: Best of MAKE UP FOR EVER Kit
Everything had held up really well! The eyeliner, Aqua Cream, and mascara looked as good as they had 10 hours earlier. My foundation had melted a little, mostly in the T-zone area, which was to be expected after a humid day.

Overall, I adore this product set, and it was absolutely worth doubling the amount of time I spend applying makeup in the morning. I would suggest this most to ladies who have a long day ahead of them, and no time for a mirror check. Trust me, all MAKE UP FOR EVER products will stay exactly where you applied them, and you will look fresh and lovely (not made-up and cakey).
The Wild and Chic Best of Make Up For Ever Kit ($55) is available exclusively at Sephora and Sephora.com.
