Living Proof No Frizz Debuts Shampoo and Conditioner!!!

I don’t know who is in the running for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize. But I’ll tell you who should be – the people over at Living Proof.

Sure, they haven’t ended any wars or found a way to mend the broken healthcare system in the U.S., but they have achieved the unthinkable. Women worldwide are finally at peace with their hair thanks to Living Proof’s revolutionary No Frizz products.

Developed by a talented team of MIT scientists, No Frizz is a comprehensive collection of cutting-edge, humidity-resistant formulas that work for all hair types. And besides obliterating frizz, these products also manage to smooth hair without a heavy or greasy feel, impart lasting shine and softness, and repel dirt and oil so you can go longer between shampoos.

Ever since I started using the No Frizz styling products “frizz” has ceased to be a word in my vocabulary (except here, obv). I use No Frizz religiously and even take them to the salon with me when I’m getting me hair did. When Spoiled Pretty partnered with Living Proof for a giveaway, the winner wrote back – raving that these are products she’ll use FOR LIFE. I mean, just read her review and tell me you’re not convinced.

As if these styling products weren’t enough of a contribution to society, Living Proof now adds shampoo and conditioner to its repetoire.

“We like to refer to these two products as a labor of love for our scientists,” says CEO Rob Robillard. “When we first started introducing the No Frizz styling products to the press and to retailers out there, they kept saying — ‘why don’t you have a shampoo & conditioner?’ Then as all you fans out there learned how great the styling products were you too kept asking — why don’t you have a shampoo & conditioner? The answer was quite simple. We didn’t want to launch just any old shampoo and conditioner, we wanted it to be as revolutionary as our styling products. We wanted you to be blown away again.”

These new daily care products wash away frizz and provide heat protection from tools like blow driers, curling irons and flat irons. The Humidity Blocking, Weightlessly Hydrating, Sulfate-Free Shampoo was developed with PolyfluoroEster and SLMI, a gentle, sulfate-free surfactant, to remove any trace of dirt or oil without stripping the hair. It promises to be the perfect choice for everyday cleansing for all hair types, including color-treated hair. Humidity Blocking, Weightlessly Hydrating, Shine Restoring Conditioner is the natural companion to leave hair soft, shining and hydrated without weighing it down.

Moisture Restoring No Frizz Leave-In Conditioner will soon be added to the No Frizz family. It is an ideal option for drier hair, incorporating PolyfluoroEster with lightweight glycerin as the key moisturizing component instead of heavy oils, a first for a leave-in frizz-fighting product.

No Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner are available now at The entire collection will launch in September 2009 at Sephora and QVC.

What Did I Tell You? Heidi Has A Dry Shampoo In The Works…

Just as I predicted, this dry shampoo nonsense on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here is Speidi’s latest attempt to extend their 15 minutes.

Yesterday, rumors surfaced that Heidi (Montag) Pratt had a deal with QVC to sell her upcoming line of dry shampoo. But when contacted by Access Hollywood, a QVC rep dismissed the rumor. “We currently do not have anything in the works with Heidi Pratt,” the QVC rep said.

How much you wanna bet that they have something in the works with Heidi Montag?

Access Hollywood also learned that the reality show provided the cast with basic necessities and hygiene products – including shampoo, soap and toothpaste. However, each contestant was allowed to bring one luxury item with them into the jungle. Peep the cast members’ personal choices:

Angela V. Shelton: a clothesline
Frances Callier: leather gloves
Janice Dickinson: Egyptian face cream
John Salley: digital camera

Lou Diamond Phillips: family photos
Patti Blagojevich: a makeup compact
Sanjaya Malakar: sports balls
Torrie Wilson: self-tanning lotion
Stephen Baldwin: toothpicks
Heidi & Spencer Pratt: dry shampoo

The ‘celebrities’ were also allowed to bring three pairs of underwear and three bathing suits. They were provided clothing to wear on the show.

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Some Dry Shampoo For My Hair!

If ever there was a commercial for dry shampoo, it was the first two episodes of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here. In nearly every frame, Heidi (Montag) Pratt clutches a can of dry shampoo as if it were a canteen of water and she’s a contestant on Survivor: Sahara Desert.

In one scene, Speidi pretends to quit the show, only to circle back to camp and stir up more drama. When Spencer learns that the other contestants (believing the duo were actually heading for The Hills) had claimed Heidi’s belongings, he loses his damn mind. Lesson learned: don’t get between Heidi and her dry shampoo. Spencer will cut a bitch!

And at one point, as Speidi vapidly rocks in a hammock and preens for the cameras, Heidi spritzes her husband’s hair. Um, Heidi…a word of advice: it’s going to take more than a few mists of dry shampoo to neutralize your slimy, trouble-making mate.

I predict that, once the Gosselin mania dies down, these media whores will (for the umpteenth time) grace the cover of Us Weekly – hocking a line of dry shampoos with Heidi’s mug on the can.

And The Award For Best Smelling Shampoo and Conditioner Goes To 100% Pure

And the award for best-smelling shampoo and conditioner goes to 100% Pure.

Accepting on behalf of 100% Pure’s Honey Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner are the honey, coconut milk, vitamins, and other good-for-your-hair ingredients that are responsible for the products’ deeply moisturizing formulas. The 100% natural formulas are free of synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrances, chemical preservatives, sulfates, and other detergents that can strip or dehydrate hair. Instead, they’re jam-packed full of hydrating, strengthening ingredients and protective antioxidants.

The Honey Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner’s fragrance is sweetly tropical, with a hint of vanilla. Fans of the brand’s Organic Virgin Coconut Nourishing Body Cream will want to eat up these deliciously-scented new additions to the 100% Pure family of products.

The consistency of the shampoo is on the runny side; so be sure to shake it up before dispensing into your cupped palm. The conditioner, on the other hand, is thick and creamy; I liken it to the McDonald’s milkshakes that give you an aneurysm trying to suck them through a straw.

Both get the Spoiled Pretty seal of approval, for their ability to moisturize and soften tore up tresses.

What To Use When Your Hair Is Tore Up, From The Split Ends Up

The label for PhytoSpecific’s Vital Force Shampoo and Conditioner indicates that the products are meant for “Curly, Frizzy, or Relaxed Hair.” To be more accurate, the packaging should say: “If your hair is tore up, from the split ends up, open up your wallet.”

The shampoo and conditioner don’t smell very good; the smell isn’t awful, but it’s definitely not something that’s going to engender deep breathing or orgasmic outbursts – like in the old skool Herbal Essences commercials. But the fragrance is a non-issue for me, because the products work so fabulously.

The Vital Force Shampoo hydrates and deeply nourishes very dry, damaged, and brittle hair. Since I started using it, I’ve noticed that my hair feels more moisturized and less brittle – and my hair breakage has decreased significantly.

The Vital Force Crème Bath is a conditioner with high concentrations of shea butter, jojoba oil and sesame oil – which penetrate the hair’s cuticle to deposit vitamins and nutrients that tore up hair is craving. The conditioner’s gummy texture is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced…I’ve been using it for a month, and I still marvel every time I get in the shower. But once you rub it between your hands, it transforms into a creamy consistency that glides through hair.

Usually when I apply conditioner, I’m too lazy to comb it through; but the Vital Force Crème Bath is so amazing that I make sure to always work it through with a wide-tooth comb – to ensure that no strand misses out on its gummy goodness.
