A few weeks ago, I posted a pic of this Max & Cleo dress I was planning to wear to a wedding and solicited your advice for complementary shoes. The resounding consensus was that I should jazz it up with a pair of colorful kicks. But while I loved many of your shoe recommendations, my wide, flat feet started to hurt just looking at those stilettos. So I decided to use your suggestions as style inspiration and search for similar heels in a less intimidating height. Unfortunately, 99.9% of the cute heels out there are too narrow for my Flintstone feet, not to mention ridiculously sky high. Seriously, how women can stand in these things, let alone stroll? Inquiring minds want to know.
I went to Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, DSW, Lord & Taylor and Bloomingdale’s – and came up with nada. I was this close to switching the dress – all because I couldn’t find appropriate shoes – until I happened upon the Sofft Ramona II Pump. (more…)
Many of you visit Spoiled Pretty for my beauty and fashion advice. But now it’s my turn to solicit style suggestions from you.
In a few weeks, I’m attending a friend’s wedding and this is the dress I’m wearing. It’s by Max & Cleo and I snatched it up for just $25 at Bloomingdale’s this past weekend (it’s originally $143). I concede that the dress doesn’t look like much on the model, but it looks great on me (and hides a multitude of sins) – hurrah! Anyways, I need shoes to complete the ensemble and I’m absolutely perplexed. Should I rock a pair of nude pumps? Or maybe inject a pop of color? I need your help!
To weigh in, leave your two cents in the comments section. Thanks in advance – and I’ll be sure to post what I ultimately pick.

When , it was love at first sight…and since then, my affection only grows stronger. I’ve worn them almost every day for the past three months because they’re so classic and chic and go with just every outfit imaginable. And they’re super comfortable, like a pair of slippers. But what I adore most is that these $60 shoes are often mistaken for $200 Tory Burch Reva flats. (more…)
That’s when I saw it…the Audrey Brooke Paris Flat. I was immediately enamored with the Reva doppleganger and rendered positively giddy by the price tag – just $59.95! But would the shoe fit? As I hurriedly removed my Ugg boot and slipped my foot into the shoe, I said a little prayer and…it fit like a glove. Not to sound dramatic – okay, maybe just a little – it was a Cinderella moment.
Alas, I didn’t buy the shoe in the store because I figured I could save more if I purchased online. So as soon as I returned home, I got on the Internet and picked up a black pair for less than $30. As I explained in a recent review of the Audrey Brooke Leopard Satchel, the awesome thing about DSW.com is that you can combine coupon codes. By combining some promo codes I researched online and cashing in some coupons I received as a DSW Rewards member (sign up…it’s free!), I saved $30 and got free shipping.
In addition to black leather, the Paris Flat is available in a metalic leather and a leopard print haircalf. They leopard ones aren’t available online, but I spotted them in the store – just, sadly, not in my size. So I called some other local DSW stores and tracked down a pair in my size – and they’re on hold until I can go adopt them on Friday. I can’t wait!!!
|Update: I scooped up the shoes a few days ago and I am so proud of my purchase. Too cute, right?|
Maybe it’s a godsend that my feet are so fat…because, for less than the price of Reva, I can pick up all three pairs of Paris.
