For a long time, Mother’s Day was just another Hallmark holiday to me. Time to buy the obligatory bouquet and card, right? That is until I had my son, Westley. Only then did I understand what a difficult (and rewarding) job motherhood truly is. Now that I’m a proud (and exhausted) mom of two, Mother’s Day holds even more meaning for me.
So do me a favor…this Mother’s Day, I want you to spoil the mothers in your life. It’s okay if your wallet is a little light. We moms appreciate a home-cooked meal, a thoughtful email/text message and – yes – the obligatory bouquet or card. But in case you’re feeling generous this year, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Mother’s Day gift suggestions.
As many of you know, I’m a working mom of two little ones…and I miss them terribly when we’re apart. So for Mother’s Day, I would love to receive a “mom necklace” with their names – so that they can always be close to my heart.
I’ve been browsing GracePersonalized, an Etsy shop with beautiful custom jewelry. Every piece they make is so lovely, it’s hard to choose just one!
In late January, IT Cosmetics invited me to attend their first QVC show with a studio audience. Sitting in the VIP section, I got a behind-the-scenes look at the crazy technical choreography it takes to produce a 2-hour live show.
Confidence in a Cream is a life changer and a skin saver. I’ve been using it every day since the QVC show and it has improved my skin tenfold. Before I swapped it into my routine, my face was a desiccated mess. It was so flaky that, in certain spots, it looked like my facial skin had dandruff. I would have to slather on a heavy moisturizer (I had been using Cetaphil Cream) just to look like my skin wasn’t peeling off. (more…)
This holiday season, give the gift of clear, smooth, radiant skin.
I was not acquainted with First Aid Beauty until I was sent their limited-edition Peace, Joy & Fab Kit (pictured above) to review. But after testing these skincare products for the past two weeks, I’m not quite sure how I lived without them. And I can’t be the only one who has recently become enlightened because this particular gift set is completely sold out at Sephora.com (check your local store to see if it’s still in stock…you may get lucky). As someone who suffers from hyperpigmentation, I’m really excited to try the Positively Radiant products—so I’m going to make Target run later this week. I’ve been using Aveeno products for decades and I find them to be incredibly gentle yet effective…not to mention budget friendly. I’m going to take this opportunity to test some new things and stock up on some oldies-but-goodies to help me transition into my cold-weather beauty routine.
When you make your Target run—which I encourage you to do—look out for special displays in the beauty section and you won’t be able to miss it!
If you have trouble finding the products in the store, just ask the Target Beauty Concierge team for help! They provide expert opinions and one-on-one advice. You can find a team near you by entering your zip code here.
Don’t miss out. Visit your local target before the deals end on October 31!
