COVERGIRL is joining forces with Star Wars for a limited-edition makeup collection.
COVERGIRL’s Global Creative Design Director Pat McGrath designed a series of six out-of-this-world beauty looks inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, its iconic characters and themes, using new limited-edition items from the COVERGIRL Star Wars Makeup Collection, as well as existing products.
Pictured above are two of the six avant-garde looks representing the Light Side and Dark Side.
Droid features a luminous look that reflects the Light Side in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. A swatch of golden eye shadow across lids and cheekbones sets the tone, with gold lipstick and gloss punctuating the lustrous palette. Droid is rocking a new metallic lip shade – COVERGIRL Star Wars Lipstick – Colorlicious in Gold #40.
Stormtrooper features a strong and graphic look to represent the power from the Dark Side. The eyes dominate with a black winged liner and white contrasts. Lips measure up in a deep, mysterious red. Stormtrooper’s edgy look is topped off with a new lip shade – COVERGIRL Star Wars Lipstick – Colorlicious in Dark Purple #50.
For years, I have loved the Tory Burch Reva Ballet Flat. I love the timeless design, the color selection and the signature logo medallion. Basically everything about the Reva, I adore. But Reva didn’t love me back because I have wide feet.

And let me tell you – these body butters (which I’ve been using as hand lotion) smell so yummy, I’ve unconsciously morphed into Mary Katherine Gallagher. As I type this, I’ve probably stopped two or three times to sniff my hands.
The collection features vintage sodafountain flavors (Black Cherry, Ginger Melon, Key Lime and Orange Cream) and is available in the form of Whish’s bubbly Bath & Body Gel and super-hydrating Body Butter.
When it comes to hair dryers, the most important feature to me is a pik attachment. Some women need a concentrator attachment to achieve a salon quality blowout. I need a pik attachment to simultaneously dry and straighten my relaxed hair. So when the pik attachment from my old hair dryer broke nearly every last tooth, I went on a quest to find a new dryer – because it’s easier to start from scratch and get a new dryer that comes with a pik attachment than to find a new pik to fit my old dryer. Those of you who require a pik know. The struggle is real.
So after an exhaustive search, I found an awesome replacement. It’s called the ConairPro YellowBird Hair Dryer. As the name implies, this dryer is used – and beloved – by many professional hairstylists.
They likely love it for the same reasons I do: (more…)
