I’m a huge fan of Quentin Tarantino and Pulp Fiction is one of my top 3 movies of all time (the others being The Sound of Music and The Godfather, Part II). Urban Decay is one of my top 3 beauty brands so I just about lost my mind when I heard about their limited-edition Pulp Fiction collection, which is available now.
Like me, the folks at Urban Decay are diehard Pulp Fiction fans. So to mark the twentieth anniversary of the release of the film, they decided to commemorate the occasion the UD way—with an ultra limited-edition collaboration. Their inspiration is none other than the cool (and completely badass) Mrs. Mia Wallace.*
This collection has everything you need to recreate Mia’s dark, edgy look from the film, including a 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil, Eyeshadow Palette, Revolution Lipstick, Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner and Nail Color. CONTINUE READING
What if I told you that you could turn your shower into a spa-like experience in less than 3 minutes? Well, you can with the ingenious Aromatherapy Shower Kit from Essio. The kit includes a shower head attachment device and three pods of essential oils. Here’s how it works…
You clip the attachment device on the shower head. It’s adjustable and works with lots of different kinds of shower heads. Next, you insert one of the essential oil pods into the end of the attachment device. Finally, you remove the pod’s cap and point the nozzle into the running shower water to start the flow of oil – which will start to fill your shower with fragrance.
The flow of oil can be adjusted to your liking. Point the pod nozzle directly in the stream of water for a bold sensory experience. If you prefer more subtle fragrance, angle the nozzle back a bit. This will also help you conserve oil so that you can get more showers out of each pod. CONTINUE READING
For the past month or so, I’ve been looking (and feeling) like a straight up zombie – but for good reason. I gave birth to my second child – a daughter, Arwen – on June 5 (a month before her due date).
It’s hard enough being a mom to a preemie, but Arwen also spent her first 8 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – so I’ve been a wreck, and looking like one too.
Last week while visiting the mall, I stopped by Sephora. Really, I was just there to browse and to check out some new products. But what caught my attention – and what I ultimately left with – was an oldie but goodie. After spying myself in one of Sephora’s mirrors, I was horrified by the dark circles beneath my eyes. Sleep deprivation definitely didn’t agree with me…so I walked around the store perusing the store’s concealer options. Which brought me to the Benefit display. CONTINUE READING
When I was about 11 years old, my mom took me to see a play. I can’t remember exactly what show it was – probably because, at the time, I couldn’t see it very well. As we were driving home from the performance, my mom rattled off her favorite parts of the performance and engaged me in conversation. It was then that we both realized I needed prescription glasses. The show had, literally, been a blur for me.
My first pair of glasses were pure ugly. My dad convinced me to pick oversized tortoise frames and lenses with a brown gradient tint. Looking back, it was no coincidence that boys wouldn’t look at me twice. But seriously, even though they weren’t the best looking glasses, they completely changed my life. For the first time in years, I could see. I mean really see. My hazy window to the world was suddenly crystal clear and I started to truly blossom.
Since then, my taste in glasses has improved exponentially. I stopped taking advice from my dad and chose frames that spoke to me at that point in my life. Now that I’ve been sporting glasses for the past 25 years, it’s cool to look back on old photos and see what kind of frames I was wearing. It’s funny how a simple pair of glasses reminds me of who I was at that moment in time. I’ve worn wire-rimmed, nerd chic frames. I’ve also done the over sized hipster-ish glasses. I’ve had several pair of angular, slightly cat-eye frames. And I even had ones with animal print arms (I love leopard).
I recently watched this Glasses.com commercial and it cleverly summed up my experience as a prescription glasses wearer.
It’s true that glasses are more than just vision correctors. They frame how you see the world and how others see you. They’re the ultimate accessory and an outward reflection of your unique personality and style. If you’re in the market for your first or a new pair, surf on over to Glasses.com. They carry a wide-range of styles and name brands, make custom lenses in their in-house lab and offer 3D virtual try-on technology so you can easily find your perfect pair.

By now, you’ve probably heard all of the Kimye wedding details. Kim Kardashian wore a Givenchy Haute Couture lace gown (she slipped into a bodycon Balmain dress post-ceremony) and Kanye West was outfitted in a custom Givenchy tuxedo. Not to be outdone, little North wore a dress also designed by Givenchy’s creative director, Riccardo Tisci. The couple exchanged Lorraine Schwartz wedding bands, were serenaded by John Legend, and are currently honeymooning in Ireland.
The Kimye Wedding Beauty Squad: Chris McMillan and Mario Dedivanovic
Kim’s wedding hair was styled by Jennifer Aniston’s homeboy Chris McMillan. But do you know who’s responsible for her flawless wedding makeup? That would be my friend (and makeup wizard) Mario Dedivanovic. He did Kim’s makeup for her last wedding. Khloe’s too.
When I call Mario an artist, that’s not me just throwing around compliments. I’ve seen him completely transform faces and he is a true artist…an expert at his craft. Watch him in action here as I interview Khloe Kardashian (Part I and Part II).
Mario travels the world beautifying some of the most famous faces. But even if you’re not a celebrity, you can still benefit from his genius.
