In honor of beauty pioneer Mary Kay Ash’s birthday this month, Mary Kay® is keeping her empowering and inspirational vision alive with the formation of the all-new Mary Kay® Glam Squad℠, a team of renowned makeup mavens, celebrity skin care specialists, beauty and fashion bloggers and the hottest stylists from around the country.
And guess what? I made the team! It’s like I’m a member of Charlie’s Angels, with a beauty bent. Well, at least that’s how I like to think of it. I’d also like to nominate this as my unofficial theme song. Anyway, moving along…
Just as Mary Kay enriched the lives of millions by sharing her wisdom, as a member of the Mary Kay® Glam Squad℠ I’ll be providing tips and tricks, dishing on the latest beauty buzz and collaborating with a talented group of style savvy experts. We are: CONTINUE READING
A recent conversation about the importance of sun protection with my coworker got me thinking about my favorite products. First I should say that I am an American Cancer Society alum. Working there gave me a generally heightened awareness of the importance of sunscreen. However, it was my father in law’s skin cancer diagnosis last summer that really made me a passionate advocate for taking care of your body’s armor. CONTINUE READING
Like a hot second after I told y’all about the Kendra Scott Closeout Sale (it’s still going on, btw), I found these Kendra Scott Wren Earrings at my local Nordstrom Rack. Originally, they cost $70 – but I scored this pair for $24.97.
How cool are these nail kits from The New Black? Totally an amazeballs idea, right? In fact, I had a similar beauty brainchild – but they beat me to the proverbial punch. Anyway, these kits are such a fun addition to the nail marketplace. CONTINUE READING
Yesterday, I paid my a visit to my local LOFT, looking for a must-have pink blazer I spotted in the current issue of People StyleWatch (my style bible/guilty pleasure). But when I started searching the store, the jacket eluded me – even after I combed the racks several times over. I did spot two, however – only they weren’t for sale. Two of the saleswomen were rocking the blazer and it was like the fashion gods were taunting me.
On the heels of Sephora’s newly announced, personalized web experience, the world’s largest specialty beauty retailer is launching “15 Days of Beauty Thrills” for its loyal clients as a thank you to its biggest fans. A lavish, unique prize will be revealed each day during “15 Days of Beauty” and rewarded to one lucky Sephora fan; so 15 days, 15 prizes, 15 ecstatic fans. Prizes include extravagant trips overseas, makeovers by well-known artists, celebrity swag, and exclusive opportunities provided by Sephora’s high-profile, luxury brands.
I absolutely adore Kendra Scott jewelry. If I could only wear one designer’s jewelry for the rest of life, it would be hers. Last summer, I borrowed a pair of her Danielle earrings from Rent the Runway and was so pained when I had to return them that I bought the same exact pair a few days later.
Anyway, as much as I love Kendra Scott jewelry, her charms do not come cheap. So when there’s a sale, you stock up, honey!
Like right now, they’re having a super sale. All sale items are 50% off (or more), for a limited-time. This is a great time to purchase for yourself (got a special occasion coming up or an outfit that needs some accessorizing?) or for a mother/sister/friend you want to spoil pretty.
Here are the sale items I’m eying up:
Rita Earrings in Amazonite, $24.97 (orig. $60)
Tela Cocktail Ring in Chalcedony, $24.97 (orig. $70)
I’m also digging these Hutton Earrings in Blue, although I don’t know how $49.97 is half of the $65 original price tag.
