As a beauty expert, women always ask me for tips on long-lasting, fresh-looking, flawless makeup. And my answer is always the same: make time to prime. It doesn’t matter whether you have 50 minutes or 5 minutes to apply your makeup – you should always take the time to prep your canvas to achieve the best result possible. You wouldn’t apply a saturated, matte lipstick to dry and cracking lips – would you? And you wouldn’t dream of wearing that bodycon dress without slipping into some Spanx, right? And I’ve sometimes wished that I could go back and make some different decisions – knowing what I know now.
The only snafu with this fantasy is that I met Graham – aka Mr. Spoiled Pretty – on the first day of law school. We became best friends our first year, started dating the second year and we’ve been together ever since (12 years and going strong). So while I sometimes regret going to law school and incurring all of that student loan debt, the truth is that the amazing life I’ve built with Graham is invaluable and I wouldn’t want to change a thing about it.
