Last night, Señor Spoiled Pretty and I saw Pearl Jam in concert. After 18 years, they still sound incredible and put on a ridiculously amazing live show. But one thing I couldn’t ignore was the state of Eddie Vedder’s hair.
In the heyday of grunge, Eddie’s wavy locks were glossy and lush. Last night, however, Eddie’s hair looked fried and – ironically – grungy. I realize that Eddie’s a surfer and could give a rats ass about split ends. But that didn’t keep this beauty junkie from wanting to bum rush the stage, armed with one of my new beauty finds.
Eddie is a prime candidate for Elasticizer, a pre-shampoo conditioning treatment from Philip Kingsley that dramatically heals your hair after just one use. It delivers a dose of moisture to the core of the cuticle – leaving hair silky, shiny, and supple. Suitable for all hair types, Elasticizer won’t thicken hair or weigh it down. It provides UV protection too, even after washing – helping prolong the life of color treatments.
Just apply to wet hair, concentrating on mid-lengths and ends, and work through for a minute. Then shampoo and condition as usual. For severely damaged hair, cover with a plastic cap for 20 minutes before shampooing.
Every Friday, the always-adorable Jamie of The Beauty of Life profiles fellow beauty bloggers and industry professionals for her First Look Fridays series. Today, the spotlight is on Spoiled Pretty.
Get on over there to learn some Spoiled Pretty secrets – like why I started blogging, the origins of the blog name, and my five beauty essentials (think you know what they are?), and the inane reason for the photo above. But before you head on over, here’s a little something to whet your appetite:
Daneen’s blog is one of my must-reads every day because she’s got such a unique take on beauty — I feel like I’m listening to a friend tell me about her favorite products every time I read one of her posts!
MAC Dazzleglass is a lipgloss lover’s dream come true. These dazzling, multi-dimensional glosses give a high-wattage shine. Non-sticky and lightweight, they can be worn on bare lips or layered, to take your lipstick to the next level.
The brush applicator applies evenly, and the glosses feature the signature MAC vanilla aroma that you know and luvre.

If you have a tattoo, you probably know that the #1 enemy of your body art is the sun. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Tattoo Potion Number 1 SPF 30 prevents your tat from fading, keeping the colors as vibrant as the day you got inked.
Tattoo Potion Number 1 contains all-natural ingredients, and has a silky smooth feel. Vitamins, minerals, and pure tapioca keep the skin healthy and soft. The product also promises to keep sand from sticking.
I wonder how quickly Kat Von D would go through a bottle of this stuff.
Tattoo Potion is available online and in stores. Click here to find a retailer near you.
Every two weeks, she visits her local nail salon and emerges with the most marvelous manicure. And Angela doesn’t play coy when it comes to color. With nail polish, she goes for the gusto. Right now, Ange is rocking OPI’s Pompeii Purple – a shimmery magenta. Oooh…pretty!
Since I’m lazy when it comes to doing my own nails, I will be featuring Angela’s on a regular basis. Check back in early July for the next edition of Nailing It. I can’t wait to see what shade she chooses next!
This August, Mariah Carey will unveil Luscious Pink, her second fragrance with Elizabeth Arden.
“This scent is feminine, flirtatious and fun, and truly reflects where I am in my life now, after an incredible year,” Mariah says. “The response from my fans with my debut scent was overwhelming, and I can’t wait to see what happens with my second Luscious fragrance.”
Luscious Pink, a sparkling floral, has top notes of Sicilian bergamot, Ocean Breeze accord and sparkling Bellini accord; a heart of Tahitian Tiare petals, lily of the valley and pink peony, and a drydown of bright blond woods, creamy sandalwood and white musk, which has been described as “a floral melody that is as enveloping as Mariah’s voice.”
The collection includes eau de parfum sprays in three sizes: 1 oz. ($39.50), 1.7 oz. ($55) and 3.3 oz. ($65) — as well as a 6.8-oz. body lotion ($28). Luscious Pink will be sold in 2,000 U.S, department stores, and will also be available in Japan.
