Wang Wants You To Wake Up And Smell The Bouquet

According to Women’s Wear Daily:

Vera Wang is tossing Bouquet, her newest fragrance, into this spring’s fragrance fray. The scent, coming in April, will be available in about 500 specialty stores in the U.S.

And that’s not all that Wang has in the way of florals this spring: Flower Princess, a follow-up to her successful Princess launch, is also set to be released in April.

Y’all know I love me anything celebrity-related; my husband thinks it’s hilarious that I refer to The Daily 10 as “the news” – he’s probably a little embarassed too.

Anyway, I recently visited TMZ, and came across this gallery of celebrity wax figures. Some of them are pretty good (Leo and Jessica) – some, not so much (Xtina). And how funny/creepy is it that James Brown’s wax double is sweating?

An Amazing Discovery

If you’ve never dabbled in DuWop before, get thee to Sephora and pick up the Discovery Kit, a set of five DuWop makeup must-haves. Cult favorite Lip Venom has been named the best lip plumper by Sephora, Good Housekeeping, and Elle – but to be honest, it’s a bit too aggressive for my liking. Then again, I have sensitive skin and I don’t need much enhancement in that area.

My personal fav of the bunch is another award winner, Blush Therapy. After only using it once, it became my #1 cheek color choice. The cream glides on like a gel, but dries to a sheer velvety powder. It blends effortlessly and the finished result more closely resembles a natural flush than shiny gel stains or regular powder blush. And to top it all off, literally, it has aromatherapy oils built into the cap.

Blush Therapy’s latest award is a spot on my Best of Beauty 2007 list. It was also one of the products I used to achieve my New Year’s Eve look. On my next trip to Sephora, I definitely plan to purchase in at least two more colors.

Shiny, Unhappy People

I thought I was done being Miss Greasy Face. In September, I waved goodbye to the oil slick that had summer vacationed on my t-zone. Little did I realize it would be home for the holidays.

I love the way super-rich winter moisturizers soothe my chapped, flaky face; my skin is so thirsty in the morning that it just drinks in the moisture. But by 10 am, I’m rummaging in my purse for my powder compact. And at the end of the day, I’m dabbing at my face with napkins left over from my Saladworks lunch.

If I could get away with the same gel moisturizer I use during warm months, I would; but as luck would have it, when I try wearing a lightweight moisturizer in the winter, I end up looking something like this…

Well, thanks to Eve Lom Moisturiser SPF 15, the oil slick took another vacation – which I think will be a permanent one. Somehow it manages to pamper my parched skin, without any shine or greasy residue; I apply a liberal amount in the AM and I’m shine-free all day – and all night.
