Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue perfume has been a favorite among women since its debut in 2001. Its mixture of Sicilian Citron, Granny Smith Apple, White Rose, and Amber is nice, but I never understood the hype. So on a recent trip to Sephora, when a saleswoman asked me if I’d like to try Dolce & Gabbana’s new fragrance, The One…well, I almost took a pass. But, as a beauty blogger, I have an obligation to neutrally report beauty news. I’m glad that I took one for the team because The One is warm, sensual, and sweet – just like we always dreamed ‘the one’ would be.
“The top notes radiate a vibrant luminosity, with a sun-touched citrus, while warm fruity notes of luscious lychee and succulent peach add to the delight. The passionate heart evokes an exploding femininity, with an opulent floral soul, creating a distinct, audacious signature. An unexpected hint of plum glows as the base finally blooms with luscious allure into the lasting warmth of vanilla and sweetened ambery-musk notes.”
The One is available at Amazon.com, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Sephora.
The editors at Cosmopolitan have discovered a goof-proof way to create a perfectly blended eyeshadow look. With Color On Professional Instant Eye Shadow Applicators, you just press the pre-made mineral shadow sticker over your lids then peel off to leave behind a soft wash of multi-tonal color. These single-use, hypoallergenic applicators require no makeup skills, no brushes, or secondary applicators.
Imagine an eye shadow that is waterproof, crease-proof, and long-wearing that transfers to the eyelid with just a touch. Voila – it’s like your own makeup artist on call.
Available on the ColorOn website.
As a little girl, my favorite flavor and scent was vanilla. Not much has changed since then, as I still have a bit of a sweet tooth – and not just when it comes to food. That’s why I am so excited to try Organix Soft & Silky Vanilla Silk Blow Dry Cream.
It’s made with 100% Tahitian Vanilla Bean Oils and silk amino proteins to nourish and strengthen hair. Organix promises that the cream’s “heat memory” lengthens the life of your style, while providing thermal protection from the heat of blow dryers, curling irons, and other hair styling tools. And Lucky Magazine says it smells like vanilla ice cream.
Why am I still writing about this and not out buying it?
Organix products are available at Target, Walmart, Walgreen’s, Amazon.com, and CVS.

I was recently contacted by BellaSugar.com – asking if they could feature my review of Clinique’s SuperMoisture Makeup in an upcoming post. I said yes, of course!
And now it’s up!!! I’m so excited, and honored, that the geniuses at BellaSugar thought my critique was worthy of posting on their main page.
So, even if you’ve already heard about my experience with this new product – check it out anyway.
Oprah Winfrey is an Oscar-nominated actress, activist, magazine editor, producer, book club sponsor, radio host…and now, hairdresser?
“It’s taken months to get to this moment,” Winfrey said. “It involves a two-time Academy Award winner, a sharp object, and me.”
The media mogul cut nine inches off Hillary Swank’s hair, as part of a charity effort airing tomorrow on her talk show. Swank’s hair will be donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths – a campaign that encourages people to grow, cut, and donate their hair to create real-hair wigs for women who’ve lost their hair due to cancer.
“I’ve been growing it for the last six months to donate my hair,” Swank says. “I’ve been taking a lot of vitamins and taking really good care of it, knowing that it would go to a woman in need.”
Also as part of Oprah’s Great American Haircut show, 100 viewers received makeovers in one hour.
