Hello, my pretties. Sorry for the lack of posts, as of late. But I have a valid excuse. I’ve been trying to save face. Literally.
A few days ago, I gave Kate Somerville’s 9!! Kit a test drive – before announcing this week’s giveaway. But yesterday, my face broke out in an inflamed, itchy rash – and I’ve spent the past 48 hours either resisting the urge to scratch my face off or rendered unconscious by Benadryl.
You see, I am one of the 1-3% of individuals who are allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide – the active ingredient in Kate Somerville’s Anti-Bac Clearing Lotion – as well as numerous acne treatments. The good news is that while my face is looking pretty effed up right now, my doc assures me that it should be back to normal in a few days.
So just a word of warning – from one beauty addict to another: if you’re going to use a new product containing Benzoyl Peroxide, do a patch test on your inner arm before slathering said product all over your face.
Acne ain’t pretty, ladies. But contact dermatitis is much, much worse.

Apply loose powder underneath your eye so that when you apply your eye shadow, the loose powder will catch any shadow that falls.
Eye shadow falling where it doesn’t belong is annoying. Yes. But does anyone actually do this? Besides professional makeup artists, I mean. It seems kinda messy. Well, if any of you have been wasting your precious loose powder following this old-school rule – it is my pleasure to introduce you to Shadow Shields.
These half -moon shaped adhesives are placed under the eye before applying eye makeup. Any excess product that falls is caught by the shields, leaving you with clean, raccoon-free eyes… every time!
A includes 50 adhesives and costs $16.95.
And there you have it, ladies. A new school solution to an age-old problem. I’m definitely going to try these with my .

It’s so gorgeous on…you don’t even know. I would have puckered up, rather than snap pics of my inner arm. But my upper lip is late for a meeting with the wax, if you know what I mean. And no one wants to see that.

How funny was it last night when Shayne snowboarded down the mountain, sat on a mound of snow, then produced like eight beauty products from her parka to touch up her makeup? I was rolling! Even more hilarious was the revelation that Lorenzo Lamas is her dad.
Shayne was kinda working my nerves before. But we beauty addicts have to stick together. I predict she’ll make it to the final two – along with Amanda.
Okay, okay. Enough reality TV talk. Back to your regularly-scheduled beauty programming…
