I used my discount to snatch up this Banana Republic trench (in gray) for only $70 (originally $175)!!!
Backstage at Baby Phat, I was in stylish company. And I don’t mean Kimora Lee Simmons. I’m referring to my Grown Up Yone handbag by Beautiful People. The crisp apple green patent (Umantao) does double duty; this chic shade is neutral enough to accessorize any ensemble, yet provides a pop of color when you’re sporting the New York uniform – basic black.
The spacious bag – complete with two cavernous side pockets – stealthily held and hid my Fashion Week arsenal (Blackberry, camera, dictaphone, flip cam, notepad, pens, wallet and a pair of ballet flats) without being cumbersome or appearing bulky. It’s perfect for the fast-paced fashionista who lives out of her handbag. Trust me when I tell you that there’s room for your entire life in the interior of the Grown Up Yone, with space to spare.
The Grown Up Yone is so sophisticated and timeless, that it should come as no surprise that Beautiful People’s newest collection was inspired by the greatest love story of all time. Featuring “austere feminine substance with a hint of Shakespearean roses and soft organic contours,“ the Spring 2009 Capulet Collection also includes Juliet, Lady Capulet and Tybalt.
“We are a family business and our goal is to create a legacy of our own to share with women of the world. These trendy fashion accessories have been customized to attract women of panache. Our bags are simply, beautifully, different,” says designer Johanna Boccardo.
The collection’s Little Rose handbag mimics the organic curvature of a rose, and is perfect day or night accessory. The Flat Rose, with its sleek design and lustrous sheen, is the ideal evening clutch. Rosaline, a clean, classic tote, was designed for minimalists who desire a fashionable, yet functional carry-all.
At the end of the night when it came time to remove Grown Up Yone from my arm, I though to myself…
I should kill thee with much cherishing.
Good night, good night!
Parting is such sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good night till it be morrow.

Spoiled Pretty reader Amy wrote me, hoping that I could shed some light on disguising her dark circles:
“I am fairly young (32) and get a fair amount of sleep every night and yet every morning I have dark circles under my eyes. I feel like I have tried many different concealers but those dark circles are always there! Is there a secret to applying concealer – or a product that will rock my world? Help me Spoiled Pretty!”
To assist Amy, I turned to Ann Ford Danielson, Makeup Trend Artist for Benefit Cosmetics – who provided some illuminating advice.
“Have no fear, Erase Paste is here!!!! This product is a concentrated creamy concealer that will camouflage your dark circles instantly. A little goes a long way with this product, so you get a good bang for your buck. It will not only conceal your dark circles but it also brightens the eye area, leaving you looking rested and ready to go!! Erase paste doesn’t dry out the under eye nor does it start to crease as the day goes on. All in all, it is an under eye miracle worker!!! I love to brush on a little Powderflage right on top to help set and smooth over the erase paste. The two products together are killer. Say goodbye to your dark circles for good!!”
Amy, get ready to give your dark circles the one-two punch, because you will soon be receiving Erase Paste and Powderflage, courtesy of Benefit.
Thanks to Ann Ford Danielson and Benefit Cosmetics for participating in this installment of Words From The Wise!
