I lead a double life…hell, triple, to be honest. I have a full-time job, manage Spoiled Pretty in my spare time and I’m the mom of a very active baby boy, Westley. So I can really appreciate a beauty product that does double duty while, literally, shaving time off my beauty routine.
LAVANILA The Healthy Body Wash 2-In-1 Shower & Shave is an all-natural body wash that prevents irritation as you shave. The hydrating formula – enriched with coconut and rosehip oils, as well as aloe – gently cleanses without leaving my skin dry or tight afterwards. It’s sulfate free, so don’t expect lots and lots of lather…just enough to let you know it’s doing its job and where you’ve already shaved.
The smell is divine. The brand sent me the Vanilla Passion Fruit to test, which is a wonderful summertime fragrance. It’s not too strong, yet not so light that – mid shower – you’re thinking, “What scent is this supposed to be, again?” It also won’t compete with your lotion or perfume, if you choose something other than the corresponding LAVANILA body products.
LAVANILA is a family affair in my house. They have a wonderful collection of products for wee ones too, which Mr. Spoiled Pretty and I use to baby Westley’s skin. Check out my review of The Healthy Baby Butter here.
LAVANILA is sold at Sephora and lavanila.com.
As a big fan of Lancôme Hypnôse Drama Mascara, I am positively giddy to learn that there’s a new member of the Lancôme mascara family. It’s called Hypnôse Doll Lashes and its mission is to deliver doll-like lashes, instantly.
This eye-opening new mascara, which was seven years in the making, delivers this doll-lash effect in two ways. First, the cone shaped, triple patented I-conic brush provides an extremely smooth application and defines even the hard-to-reach corner and lower lashes. The bristles offer ultimate separation, making it easy to layer without any clumping. The glide-on formula is enriched with nylon powders that meticulously sculpt and curl each lash for a voluminous, jet-black finish. A combination of hard and soft waxes volumize and curl while shaping polymers lengthen. The result is an instant wide-eye look.
Three of the glamorous faces of Lancôme – Daria Werbowy, Elettra Wiedemann and Arlenis Sosa – will launch the Hypnôse Doll Lashes campaign. Hypnôse Doll Lashes is now available exclusively at Dillard’s and Dillards.com and will roll-out nationally in September.
Peep my polish. It’s OPI Shorts Story. I have my friend/co-worker, Alyssa, to thank for this discovery. She’s been wearing it for the past week and after she caught me coveting her pedi like a thousand times, she benevolently bought me a bottle. This lovely lacquer is a bright, blue based pink that covers perfectly with 2 coats. It’s the perfect summer shade for me, as it pops against my tan skin – without looking garish. Though I don’t work in a corporate environment that frowns on trendy nail colors, I imagine that this would be a great shade for girls who wanna have fun with their manicures, but also need to look business class-y (provided that you keep your nails short).
Congrats to the winner of the ghd Iconic Eras of Style Giveaway – Jessica Lucente!
Jessica will receive the Boho Chic set – which includes the ghd Gold Professional 1″ styler, two sectioning clips and a step-by-step booklet showing you how to recreate iconic styles at home – packed in a heat-resistant, brown fringed clutch!
I own the same set and I’m obsessed. It’s like the styling iron of my dreams, made real. I love that it heats up in mere seconds, and beeps to let me know it’s time to do the do. And the contoured plates allow me to create both straight and curved styles. It also shuts off after 30 minutes of inactivity, which is a big plus for me because I’m constantly paranoid that I’ve left my flat iron plugged in and I’m going to burn down the house. But my favorite feature is the plate guard – it slips on like a cap so you can just throw your hot-as-hell styling iron into your bag (or wherever) without fear that it’ll singe up all of your stuff. Love that!
Jessica is going to love it too. Congrats, girl!
Many thanks to ghd for sponsoring this giveaway and to everyone who entered. Check back tomorrow for Spoiled Pretty’s next giveaway!
For the longest time, I’ve had a $50 gift card to Barneys New York. 50 bucks doesn’t go far at Barneys which is why it took me so long to get my virtual shop on. But recently, I decided to cash it in on a bottle of Kai Perfume Oil – and let me tell you, while the bottle is tiny ($48 gets you 1/8 oz), this was money very well spent.
Kai’s perfume oil is a blend of fresh gardenias and white exotic flowers made with essential oils in a convenient and easy to use roll-on vial. Whenever I wear it and catch a whiff of myself, I’m instantly transported to an exotic island paradise. I just want to LIVE in this fragrance. Kai is the perfect warm weather perfume and I’ve already packed it away in my bag for my trip to Miami later this week.
Since creator Gaye Straza launched the line in 1999, Kai has established a cult following – including celebs Cate Blanchett, Mary J. Blige, Pink, Giuliana Rancic, Naomi Watts and Reese Witherspoon. Kai can add Daneen Baird to that list because I’m hooked and fully intend on adding to my Kai collection (I just added the body wash and body butter to my beauty wish list).
