Peep my polish. It’s OPI Shorts Story. I have my friend/co-worker, Alyssa, to thank for this discovery. She’s been wearing it for the past week and after she caught me coveting her pedi like a thousand times, she benevolently bought me a bottle. This lovely lacquer is a bright, blue based pink that covers perfectly with 2 coats. It’s the perfect summer shade for me, as it pops against my tan skin – without looking garish. Though I don’t work in a corporate environment that frowns on trendy nail colors, I imagine that this would be a great shade for girls who wanna have fun with their manicures, but also need to look business class-y (provided that you keep your nails short).
Congrats to the winner of the ghd Iconic Eras of Style Giveaway – Jessica Lucente!
Jessica will receive the Boho Chic set – which includes the ghd Gold Professional 1″ styler, two sectioning clips and a step-by-step booklet showing you how to recreate iconic styles at home – packed in a heat-resistant, brown fringed clutch!
I own the same set and I’m obsessed. It’s like the styling iron of my dreams, made real. I love that it heats up in mere seconds, and beeps to let me know it’s time to do the do. And the contoured plates allow me to create both straight and curved styles. It also shuts off after 30 minutes of inactivity, which is a big plus for me because I’m constantly paranoid that I’ve left my flat iron plugged in and I’m going to burn down the house. But my favorite feature is the plate guard – it slips on like a cap so you can just throw your hot-as-hell styling iron into your bag (or wherever) without fear that it’ll singe up all of your stuff. Love that!
Jessica is going to love it too. Congrats, girl!
Many thanks to ghd for sponsoring this giveaway and to everyone who entered. Check back tomorrow for Spoiled Pretty’s next giveaway!
For the longest time, I’ve had a $50 gift card to Barneys New York. 50 bucks doesn’t go far at Barneys which is why it took me so long to get my virtual shop on. But recently, I decided to cash it in on a bottle of Kai Perfume Oil – and let me tell you, while the bottle is tiny ($48 gets you 1/8 oz), this was money very well spent.
Kai’s perfume oil is a blend of fresh gardenias and white exotic flowers made with essential oils in a convenient and easy to use roll-on vial. Whenever I wear it and catch a whiff of myself, I’m instantly transported to an exotic island paradise. I just want to LIVE in this fragrance. Kai is the perfect warm weather perfume and I’ve already packed it away in my bag for my trip to Miami later this week.
Since creator Gaye Straza launched the line in 1999, Kai has established a cult following – including celebs Cate Blanchett, Mary J. Blige, Pink, Giuliana Rancic, Naomi Watts and Reese Witherspoon. Kai can add Daneen Baird to that list because I’m hooked and fully intend on adding to my Kai collection (I just added the body wash and body butter to my beauty wish list).
ghd and their global brand ambassador Katy Perry are reinventing styles from the most glamorous eras to create gorgeous looks with a modern 2011 twist. The new Iconic Eras of Style limited edition collection includes three limited edition sets that allow you to reinvent iconic looks from the most dapper decades.
Inspired by old Hollywood beauty, the Glamour set allows you to create captivating soft curls straight from the 1950’s silver screen.
The Boho Chic set provide all of the tools you need to become a 1970’s Bohemian beauty. With soft beachy waves and a glowing natural complexion, Katy Perry encapsulates this enchanting look with radiant inner confidence.
Inspired by this season’s color blocking trend, the New Wave set creates rad waves and curls. It’s an 80’s revival!
Each set includes the sleek ghd Gold Professional 1″ styler. The styler has contoured plates that create straight and curved styles. The plates heat up quickly, the device beeps when it reaches your desired temperature, and turns off after 30 minutes of inactivity – so you never have to worry that you’ve left it on and your house may be on fire. The styler comes with a plate-guard that protects the hot plates when the styler is switched off, allowing you to safely pack them away without damaging your belongings. Also included in the set are two sectioning clips and a step-by-step booklet showing you how to recreate iconic styles at home.
Each set is accompanied by a heat-resistant purse that is representative of that era: black satin evening clutch in the Glamour set, brown fringed clutch in the Boho Chic set, and black studded clutch in the New Wave set.

So this weekend, I went shoe shopping at Macy’s and bought these super fun Wowza sandals (also available in gold) from Nine West. They look so good on my feet that the $79 price tag didn’t really faze me. But it sure stung later that day when I saw my new shoes on ninewest.com – for $32 cheaper!
Now, if it was only a $5, $10, or $15 difference, I might have just cursed my bad luck and got on with my life. But $32 is a different story. So I went back to Macy’s, returned the sandals and then bought them online when I returned home. I even managed to find a free shipping coupon code, so I made out like a bandit.
Only down side is that I have to wait about a week to wear my cute new kicks.
