Want good hair every day? Then get ghd, which literally stands for ‘good hair day.’ I first discovered their Gold Professional 1″ styler in 2011 – and besides my beloved blow dryer, it is honestly the only styling tool I’ve used in the five years since.
In November, Sephora sent me ghd’s limited-edition Arctic Gold Professional Styling Gift Set, and I’m equally obsessed. It’s like the styling iron of my dreams, made real. I love that it heats up to the optimum styling temperature of 365 °F in less than 60 seconds, and beeps to let me know it’s time to do the do. And the contoured plates allow me to create straight, wavy and curved styles. It never snags as I run it over my tresses, and it imparts the most amazing shine.
Once upon a time, I needed this rug. But thanks to ghd and their handy automatic shut off feature, I don’t worry about my house burning down.
It also shuts off after 30 minutes of inactivity so you never have to worry that you’ve left it on and your house may be on fire. Perfect for traveling, the gift set also includes a heat-resistant roll bag with a protective plate guard – so go ahead and throw your hot-as-hell styling iron into your bag (or wherever) without fear that it’ll melt all of your stuff. Love that!
I will admit that at $225, this styling set costs a pretty penny. But if you use your iron on the regular, it’s definitely a worthwhile investment.
Cute hair + less damage – risk of burning your house down = what are you waiting for?
One of my favorite things in life is to de-stress with a relaxing massage. But sometimes, a massage can be downright stress-inducing. At many popular spa/salons, massage appointments can book up pretty far in advance – so you have to schedule weeks, even months, ahead of time. And if something comes up and you have to reschedule, well, you get the picture. Getting to your massage can be stressful if you live a good distance from the spa and/or take public transportation. And then after your massage, there’s only a finite time you can sit there in a robe and slippers before it’s time to hit the road, Jack. First world problems, I know.
But what if I told you that there’s a service that provides massages without all of the hassle – in the comfort of your own home?
Soothe is a same-day, massage-on-demand service that delivers a licensed, vetted and certified massage therapist to your home, office or hotel room, with as little as 60 minutes advance notice. Services include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Prenatal and Couples massage. Appointments are offered between 8 a.m. and midnight every day of the week, with fixed prices of $99 (60 minute), $139 (90 minute), and $169 (120 minute) per person, regardless of the type of massage selected. And gratuity is included!
Last month, Philadelphia became the 20th city serviced by Soothe and the company reached out to see if I’d like to review for Spoiled Pretty. I’m not sure what kind of dummy would turn down a complimentary rub down, so I said yes. And let me tell you – the experience was stress-free from start to finish. (more…)
Handbag charms are the new hot trend – and I’m totally on board. I’m a handbag hoarder and my habit can get expensive. But with handbag charms, you can give your purse some new pizzazz for a fraction of the cost of new bag.
Here are a few of my favorite charms to sweeten up your arm candy:
Every October, I start planning Spoiled Pretty’s annual Holiday Gift Guide. And although I’m open to just about anything that will be of interest to readers, I don’t typically include food items on the list. But this year, I was contacted by the folks at Garrett Popcorn Shops to see if I’d like to try a sample for possible inclusion.
Garrett Popcorn Shops is a gourmet popcorn company that hand-crafts small batches in-shop daily, using only the highest-quality ingredients and signature blend of non-GMO kernels. This holiday season, Garrett Popcorn Shops is offering two limited time flavors:
White Chocolate-Covered CaramelCrisp®
Peppermint Frost (debuting for the first time this year)
The company sent me tins of both to try and they were SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS! (more…)
